the reason why nobody except myself has all the necessary mod files is that i'm extremely busy organising voice actor casting, writing emails, scripting, editing tabledata, tilesets, mapping

i'm also shipping around the voice files to a sounds expert who will filter and adjust the files to each other

you see, i'm using tons of unfinished (not definitive) content. I don't know how much az would like to have 500 megabyte non definitive stuff in his mail inbox.

when the time comes, i'll list features and status of the project in one of these threads. i'm not deliberately camouflaging stuff, i do it for means of simplicity

be sure that you'll be amongst the first to receive all files necessary to do the betatesting if you want to

khor

any help when it comes to those animations would be exrtemely appreciated. they're unfinished as you see. Plus, you can use them in your mod too, i think they are highly ww2 compatible

Khor,
You didn't have to say all that. Smile

The reason we don't have a private forum is not that we can't have it.We could keep it only on those fat gmail accounts that we have too.
Our little laundry is done in public so that people that manifest a strong interest here, and vocation, can join the effort. And benefit from what is done here.
You know, swap ideas and (modding)experiences, and share knowledge.(plus it keeps us from getting a mod that only we appreciate)
You are more than welcomed to the team,I'm absolutely certain.Your mod could benefit from what The Scorpion an I have to offer(opinions, resources, etc)
Now, the difference between you and me is that I assembled a (pathetic) mod in a weekend(and tried to correct it in the following two), while you keep threatening JA2 players with that WW2 mod for more than a year now.(another extreme)
Your project seems very ambitious too, just as "Renegade Republic".I never aimed with "Reconquista" at more than an excuse to replay JA2 for a few players, and a middle way between original game and Wildfire
but these 2 projects of yours...
Scorp was more visible, and contagious with his enthousiasm and determination, plus he already had a good mod behind him.
While I tried to make him keep a perspective on this(hey, it's just a mod, not something that can be totally original, or something lucrative, waisting our time,I'm a working man, modding sucks-it's 1% inspiration-99% trans(pers?)piration, look at that 3D marvel called "Mass Effect" to get an idea on how things are done these days, and so on Very Happy ),
I ended up being captivated by what a collective work can do.With all compromises that could derive from that.

In conclusion, what about a new
"mod squad",coming up with two 1.13 mods in the year to come?I'll let the two of you discuss priorities. Wink

Looks like this week's going to be a killer at work.Won't be around too much. You think about it.

scorpio was an example of what a mod author/director should be when i sent my not very important voice contribution for his mod; i always prefer a professional attitude, albeit in a small matter/mod comparing to a pompous proclamations about nebulous long term/never accomplished goals.

yesterday i bakced up all mod data (around 500 megabyte) once again and pressed it onto CD

why does this fit here?

well in case i can't accomplish my goals, i can pass on the CD to others. I invested too much effort into the project. so if i was banned from this forum because of my repetative offensive behaviour, the team could continue to work without me

there migth be other reasons why, but what matter sis that my email adresses are everywhere and a copy of all mod files can be obtained in case i was not to accomplish my goals

borout

i have to make you a compliment too. You were a very cooperative and well motivated voice actor. In fact, i've been more pleased with the current level of activity from the voice actors than my own. It's a critical moment in the modmaking process. It should be over soon and i'll be back into the game Smile

scorpio, not to overdo the mutual back slapping society Smile), i see no reason for you to be banished. quite the opposite! mods like yours (and others) are what keeps this site, and the legacy of JA alive. what is better for JA tradition and this site survival? - people developing something along the tradition of JA, or people complaining that an open discussion hurt their inflated egos? banishing you makes as much sense as banishing pyramide buldiers, because they swear too much??? and yes, for my egoistical side, i cant wait to hear my small contribution in your mode...

Just think when all the blood, sweat and tears comes to an end and we have a finished project. Everything will become normal once again with girlfriends (and boyfriends) complaining about you playing JA2 too much rather than modding too much. For now lets all pitch in and help out to get it done - not just quickly but to an awesome playing level.

Scorpion If there is anything else I can do to help you (or anyone else for that matter) let me know. You guys have been working really hard for some time now - Just make sure you dont start to hate the project! Feel free to share the load.

sure

i tried contacting my sounds guy so i can coordinate with him if you can do some of clean-up and adjusting of speech files. This is, you'd have to have similar results than him that's why i'd have to coordinate this

such things tend to go slowly

then we're trying to get your editor to work (other thread)

and i'll provide you a new script for recording. I think these 3 aspects are a respectable share of the workload once they are ready.

is that okay?

And Scorpion you know my limitations too.

Sorry I will be delayed for a few days now while trying to get my computer fixed. Dont worry it isnt related to any JA activities I was undertaking. Luckily I had emailed copies of everything I had done up to this point so I dont think Ive lost anything (apart from Uni work which isn't that important Razz ).

Once everything is all fixed up (taking it in to be repaired thursday (tomorrow)) I'll see what i can do to help once again.

Should be funny to see the stories revolving around my character and 'chopper' and borouts character now.. Could get a little messy. Hehe.

I really like this background picture. The angle and scenery is kind of my thing, I think.
