Slow saves[message #195999]

I have a problem with saving in the game both quick save and manual. When I save, the game says it's saving but dosn't do anything for an extended period of time. The music still plays and sometimes after a while (10+ minutes) the save goes through other times im forced to reeset the computer since the game wont minimize.

I'm using the mod 1.13 right now but I have had this problem before in regular 1.07. It is much earlier than it usually is though, (cambria as opposed to Medunna.)

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you used disk cleanup and disk defragmenter recently?

I'd blame your comp , as I used to have that problem when low on HD space , got an external drive , dumped stuff in there and voila , easy saves . It's a possibility .

I just looked at a game I recently finished and the largest savefile was around 4 MB. Mega, not Giga.

What OS are you using? Could your AV program be interfering?

I'm using XP. It looks like my anti-virus was interfering as it saves instantly when I have it off.

Most AV programs watch when a file is re-written. So it might help just to rotate through the saves then delete 4 or 5 and use those and etc.

I am having this Problem with Ja2 1.13 with the latest builds (right now :JA2_113-v1-G0f38Ld66a)
I didnt have this Problem last time ,weeks ago. I stopd playing Ja2 for weeks because of Ja3 and now i came back and realised that saving a game takes a longtime. On ssd it takes around 8 sec on on hdd 9sec. I reinstalld it fresh once on ssd and then on hdd.

But Ja2Straciatella , which i have on hhd, saves in under 1sec.

I have Win10 + Windef. I dont think it interferes with it. and its not just quicksaves that take long also normal saving a new file.

any Idea?

edit: i have no idea why , i didnt touch anything but its back to normal saving in 1sec...but i would have no clue why...
Ja 2 Wildfire (steam) still takes few seconds for quicksave. normal save a fast...
