Hi,

Skimming thru the posts I saw something about no NIV stuff being normally available and only attainable via stealing??

Is that still the case after all the patches?

Really?

I am at day 6, and have captured the Drassen-like town with the airport. I have yet to see one NIV item drop, and Bobby Ray's doesn't sell any either...

I am using RR_ja2_2114.exe ...

There isn't a whole lot of LBE's in RR, you do need to steal them.

unless you play drop-all. drop-all is toggleable. so playing one sector in drop-all mode should provide you with enough LBE stuff for the entire team, then you switch back to normal drops mode as to not screw up the game balance.

Is that applicable to RR? I remember reading LBE's weren't fully incorporated into RR, could have changed though.

playing with the latest all-in one patch, you get about the same LBE stuff as vanilla 1.13 when it first implemented them, but with different names and pics, some exceptions with stuff missing but more or less the same as early NIV.

I remember most RPC's having decent lbe vests from the get go, and pockets and bags are plentiful, plus you get more vehicles that maul stuff around.

playing drop-all, should, as outlined, provide you with dozens of lbe items after a single sector. Some LBE stuff might be limited to specific mercs or RPC's (like the Vitiaz vest... don't remeber exactly)


Funniest stuff are the girl's bag, the double holsters and the carrying belt from guns could be used as a simple combat pack, so you actually get a more creative use of NIV there than what you get elsewhere, but it's still clearly visible that it wasn't really in the developer's focus Very Happy given how much detail and attention went into other elements.

i always played OIV mode in vengeance-1.13, but judging from the xml editor, vengeance-1.13 has almost identical items including lbe stuff than the 1.13 versions of similar date. i'ts almost only maps, quests, characters, story etc. that has been changed, items seem fairly similar.
