Please help me... I have my own way of playing JA, as I usually boycott AIM and only play with MERC and RPC... this time around I made the mistake of having no Leadership, so I can hardly recruit anyone. I've finally hired Thor to do that for me, as he has leadership 61. He managed to recruit Conrad and before I get Maddog, I wanted to pick up Vince (I looove high Wisdom) but he won't join me! I saved Joey, Cambria has a loyalty of 93% and I haven't taken anything from the crates in the storage area in the hospital. But I HAVE opened the door and all the crates inside, but never taken anything. From the Incest Farmes east of cambria I know, that opening the crates won't trigger animosities, only grabbing what's inside.
So, why won't Vince come with me and is there any way to make him? (Insane difficulty)

Did somebody hurt or threaten nurse Jenny or the other doctor?
Did You take the discount from the other doctor?
If You can answer one of these questions with yes, well - forget it.

Opening the crates is not harmfull.
Bringing back Joey or battling the Hillbillies is not needed.

Do You have a wounded merc in the sector?
If Yes remove hime (Vince will only offer curing Your team)

You need loya >/= 80, no "borrowing", no injured or threatened "named" personal

Leadership 61 is enough

I neither hurt or threatened anyone.
I have only been treated once - Ira had like 2 points of damage and Vince treated her for 10 min. But that was before the Joey quest

I seem to have everything right... can I change something in my savegame?

the Joeyquest is irrelevant.

somebody INCLUDES the army (also they don't threaten)

You can't change Your savegame. perhaps supressing is counted as threatening (don't know)

You cheated yourself when you hired Thor. Next time you should just train your I.M.P. in leadership until he has sufficient capabilities in recruiting various people.

What items? Books?

My IMP has 2% Leadership, it would have been tedious to train that... and I don't know an exploit to train Leadership, only for Strength and Explosives

You said you did not want to use A.I.M. so you cheated yourself by giving into hiring Thor for recruitment purposes.

It will be much more rewarding if you train a mercenary, presumably one characterized after you, from a leadership of 1 to something useful.

Why use exploits?

Why rush?
While healing, train leadership.
Train militia in order to train leadership.
The lower the number in any given trait, the easier and faster it is to train.

The books are just an idea I have had. Disregard these statements about books.

Leadership is actually one of the easiest stats to train up, assuming you have a high Wisdom; and I assume you do, since you state you love having high Wisdom Razz

. You get it fairly easily and often from training militia and in 1.13, even other mercenaries... not sure if it goes just as fast though. So even if you start with it low, you can skyrocket it within a few days.

Actually that probably goes for most any skill stat. Personally I always start with a Marksmanship score of 65 and it's in the '80s around the 5th or 6th day usually.

Mhmm... you seem to play this game in a very different manner from the way I do. I have a combat squad (IMP, Ira, Flo, Gumpy + maybe 2 more later) and militia squads (bill/dimitri, haywire/razor) and a repair man (Gasket), though it doesn't seem as if he gets much done (what do I have to do to improve repair speed? Ini? An which Ini? The one in the main folder, the one in the data-1.13 folder or the editor? I mean... he takes a full day to get a damn M14 from 70 to 100%).
My combat team does nothing but combat... I haven't trained or done anything ever... and since I avoid getting hurt by any means necessary (plus I always have tons of reg-boosts with me) I never have to spend days healing... I don't feel like I have time to do any of those things considering the hordes of enemies Deidranna unleashes...

I dunno... the three are dumb as dirt, I feel like they wouldn't have learned how to hold a gun by the time I gut Deidranna... It seems like a waste to me, not to make use of Gumpys 94% Wisdom, you know? I mean... it's day 9 now and he already has MRK 86 EXP 8...

Gumpy - he talks not so much when he is training milia.

Haywire + Razors are buddies, Razor has a very high agility and his need for sleep is brilliant.

Gasket for his stupidity.
I always start with those 3.
When money flows, Fidel joins the party.
They are pro in Close Combat, all Melee.
Razors stats now: Agi 96, Dex 95, Str 91.

Ooh and night ops.
Haywaire always makes alot noise, so i gave him that stealth suite & assassin vest(+20 stealth modifier)

But the reason i post here is:
Cambria 89% loyalty and brought that boy back to his mother.
Still not wanna recruit.
My IMP is ok. She always recruit everybody in previous (1001) games.

Nobody (including the army) may threaten or wound Jenny or the other doctor

Joey has NOTHING to do with it

in proEdit are approach values for every RPC/NPC perhaps Biggins has the wrong attitude

Don't use Biggins for any quests. He is an UB character and there are some problems with him and the JA quests (I even failed to have the Hans-Tony sequence being started by Biggins).

Just a short question... once I've hired good ole' Vince... can I steal from the hospital crates then?

In the Arulco Revisited Manual it says the loot in the hospital warehouse has been improved... but what are the repercussions if I steal from the crates and lockers?
