Looks like the "official" BiA boards have finally succumbed to the sheer weight of spam being posted, last time I looked the BiA subforums had about 15,000 posts each, mostly spam!

I'm concerned about losing access to all the hard work done by modders and other players, it seems most mods were posted over there rather than on these boards.

Does anyone have a .zip of all the latest mods and modding tools to post here? I think a fair few ppl are still playing the game from time to time and it'd be useful to have an archive of all mods here.

Thank you Smile

I have no idea what the Devs were doing all the time when the spam was growing and growing. They are just completely irresponsible. They have destroyed all hard works, that all moders gave to made everything. We gave our precious time to developed this game and they have destroyed everything because of their lazy and irresponsible nature.

I have in my Polish forum only the most popular modifications. They are safe and ready to download at all time. When you click [color:#CC0000]DOWNLOAD, it will open next web page, then click [color:#CC0000]SEE ORIGINAL PAGE.

3. Blue Dawn Mod
4. Combat Evolved
5. Drops All Items
6. Firearms Rebalanced Experiment
7. Improved ICE

9. Mini Mods
10. New Interfaces
11. Ultimate AIM-Professionals

9. Sounds Mod

I totally feel your frustration with them. I only got this game a couple of weeks ago but it's fairly clear that they've basically abandoned moderation of the official forum and support for the game since releasing Crossfire. BitComposer comes across as one of the most unprofessional game developers I've seen.

I was watching this interview with one of the developers, and it really left a bad taste in my mouth.

- said centralized system for equipping militia could be done, but they never did it.

- IMP as a DLC: contrary to what Michael says, this could be done. We can already do it by replacing existing mercs with a custom one, including voice files and recruit screen portrait. The most important thing here is that they can patch the game .exe (with an IMP merc placeholder, among other things)--which they already had to do for some of the updates.

- vehicle for transporting items and/or mercenaries: could be done. Michael says it's a "lot of work" because they have to update all the maps where the vehicle can travel to--not that many maps, basically only those connected by roads. They already had to update many maps in some of the patches in order to fix bugs.

- still some serious bugs after 1.13g, which they have no intention of ever addressing nor making it possible for modders to address them.

They should give up, confess they suck and release the source code.

Thanks Starchris, at least you've got the major mods archived.

I agree its an appalling way to treat customers and fans by letting the forums go to shit.
Countless hours of hard work is gone (at least for now, who knows if they backed up) and they let the forums die over a period of months and months. How many times did we point out the spam problem? Nothing doing Razz

It makes me appreciate independent forums like this one more Smile

We have a very good news. The official forum back to life, but they brought with it a stowaway with more than 500 hundreds topic with spam about pharmacy in almost every subforum. Very nice.

Pfft, typical!

Time to d/l all mods and back them up here?

It's tough clicking through pages of spam, but if you filter based on popularity you get the major mod threads

It seems that the modding subforum is almost clean. There are only 25 spams topic (earlier was 500). But what's done, is done. I think that nobody will return to the modding of JA Back in Action after this spam disaster.

Well, they can always come here if they're still interested in modding ... we're serious about spam bot hunting.

Sir-Tech is no more for almost a decade now. Ian Currie is now working at Turbine, last I checked, which doesn't seem to be doing that well ATM. The last interview I read in which he was quoted was for DnD Online. Who knows....maybe he's one of the people who was laid off and it will inspire him to start his own company like Brian Fargo, and then maybe the ball will get rolling Smile
