Hey there.... don't know if this is worth joining the bugtracker for, so I'll post here first. It's more of a small oversight than a proper bug.

I just started playing again (rev6322/GameDir1738 from SCI) and got the game locked up, because I removed a weapon attachement during battle with very few APs left. The merc's inventory was completely full, so I couldn't do anything with it. Reattaching was not possible and I couldn't drop anything either without APs left. There's really nothing I could do at that moment (switching mercs, ending turn, etc.)

In the end I resolved the problem with the good old "kill all enemies" cheat, which kicked the game back into realtime and let me reorganize the inventory. I guess, that's not intended behavior Wink

My solution would be to to allow negative APs when dropping stuff to the ground (just dropping, not throwing or passing). I guess that's the least complicated way to do it.

This is a common bug actually, which I think carried over from the original JA2. It happened to me at least several times (I think it happened to me in the vanilla JA2 too) - I don't know though if it's unknown for the coders or just too hard to fix...

Hi Moki,

Which weapon with attachment did you use?

Because there is only bug if you remove attachment in strategic screen then you cannot drop except in trash can, in tactical screen this problem is solved by someone long time ago, and what ever I try couldn't recreate your problem :whoknows:

However similar bug exist with removing and reloading ammo clips in both screens. Already fix both problem and will update tomorrow after more testing.

I think that I ran into such a problem before while reloading a shotgun. Usually it would just have reloaded but I had only few APs left. I clicked on the gun with the ammo at hand cursor (a 4 shot clip of buckshot) and it loaded one or two shells until I ran out of APs. So I was stuck with 0 APs and some shells still in hand. I couldn't put them back into inventory so I kept clicking on the gun and finally ended with a full gun and -x APs. Looked like a good solution to me at that time. Is that what you are referring to?

There also is some problem with swapping items in inventory. For example if you try to swap your weapons and you have little APs left.

Let's say you want to switch from the rifle in your hand to the SMG in your weapon sling and you have 20 APs left.

1. pick the rifle from hand slot
2. click on the weapon sling slot, now you have the SMG at your cursor and 8 APs left

8 APs is not enough to put that SMG anywhere. You will have to Alt+x to get out of this situation. Sad

I haven't looked closer at this problem though.

I don't remember exactly what weapon it was, but the attachement was a 4x ACOG scope and I had APs for inventory manipulation enabled (if that matters).
I encountered this problem for the first time now and was a little confused that it never happened before. I'll try to reproduce it and get some exact data. Maybe it does still happen under very specific circumstances.

The AP Manipulation code does not check if you will have enough AP to put the item somewhere. It only checks if your current APs are more than the AP cost of moving the item, and if they are less, prevents dropping of the item. Until someone corrects it, not sure how to fix it. You could try setting APs to drop an item to 0, but that is the same value used to pick an item up, not to mention you will still use some APs, depending on which slot you picked the item from.

Kriplo and I are working on fixes for those "sticky" items on hand cursor at the moment.

This affects:

- removing and placing ammo
- removing and placing attachments
- swapping gear in tactical

We will keep you informed about when these issues are fixed.
