The poison system, introduced years ago for zombies and food, has been removed as of r7870 & GameDir r2245.
It was not a standalone feature, but it was used in several others:
- The food system used it to simulate diseases from bad food. This is now handled much, much better via diseases.
- Zombies caused poison damage to simulate infections with all kinds of nasty diseases. This too is handled better by diseases.
- Zombies also slowly regenerated life over time via poison absorption mechanic. This has been removed completely, because I say so.
- Life regeneration via poison absorption mechanic was accessible to mercs if they followed the chaos path of Nurgle in my WH40K mod. As I am unlikely to merge the current trunk into that old branch, this is not an issue. Many once-unique features from that mod have been merged and improved into the trunk already. At this point it would be easier to code the rest of the WH40K stuff into a fresh branch, and simply give Nurgle champions a +1 HP every couple of turns or so.
I see no benefit in keeping that outdated feature, JA2 is already enough of a code cemetery. So it has been removed. This includes TableData tags and ini options.
The following tags were removed:
- <resistance_poison> from Backgrounds.xml
- <PoisonPercentage> from AmmoTypes.xml
- <PoisonPercentage> from Items.xml, as well as the Antidote
Ini:
- Everything under [Tactical Poison Settings] and FOOD_MAX_POISONING

I know now that it could never work between us, as much as we wanted to, it could never be! Not because you're a rabbit, but because you're black.
If you want, you can donate to me. This will not affect how and what I code, and I will not code specific features in return. I will be thankful though.Report message to a moderator

As silversurfer said, neurotoxin is not related to the poison feature and is still active. I've updated the first post in which tags and options were removed.
