Okay, by all means, if you guys have already addressed this, I apologize for being oblivious.

I play Arulco Folding Stock and related mods by wil734. In it, I'm able to (at the very start) select the 'coolness' of Bobby Ray's.

However, if I do so, I tend to subsequently have better access to weapons vs what I'd find with local merchants. Tony comes to mind, or whoever the gun merchant is in San Mona, in the video store.

For example, I could buy M16A4s from Bobby Ray's, only to go to Tony and find he's only selling MP5s or lower 'coolness' items.

Is there anyway to link merchants to this 'Bobby Ray's setting' so that merchants will ALWAYS be favorable to visit, even with a higher initial coolness setting for BR?

In Merchants.xml you can set <useBRSetting> to 1 for any merchant. In addition to that you can modify <addToCoolness>. Tony for example has <addToCoolness> at 1 so he would be one level better than BR.

Tony already has <addToCoolness> = 1 in UC-1.13, but I've upped it to 3 for the Experimental being worked on for a weekend release. I've also set <useBRSetting> = 1 for the Experimental. Will make the same adjustments in AFS and DL-1.13 later.


More weapon features and upgrade options, via (mis)use of v1.13 for vanilla Arulco, Dedrianna Lives! and Urban Chaos campaigns.

Does it really make sense that a Merchant inside a war-torn country would have as good or better stuff than a mail-order merchant somewhere in the prosperous free-world.

By all means if you prefer it that way, I'm not here to criticize! It is your game and play it how you prefer! happy

But just curious if my thinking is unreasonable from a "realism" and "balance" standpoint?

That was always my sense for why with default settings Tony has crap and BR has better stuff.
