are you keeping your games on the seperate partitions or are they sharing a data area? When I dual boot, often I would have OS partitions and then a second HD for games and data, which meant that though the registry files were different many actual game files were the same for both OS.
AMD gfx cards definately have an issue with the morph filter needing to be turned off, pretty sure that happens on NVidia too, but i haven't had an Nvidia card in forever, beyond that and the win8 patch for the Directx files i'm not aware of any special crashes for the updated hardware, I think the big conversion and recompiling that our most excellent contributors do has cut down on many of those kind of problems.
yes, SCI is single click installer, I get mine from depressivesbrot Good stuff, and install it over a copy I made after I picked up the humblebundle a year or two ago (my third purchase of the base game).
