Hello.

I've played JA2 several years ago like a maniac. I love this game to death and being disappointed by the genres current games like XCOM/XCOM2 or the JA "remakes" that are just utter bullshit, i've decided to get back once more to the good old JA2, but this time with the addition of 1.13. I've played 1.13 a while back and i don't remember having that much trouble back then..

Currently i have tried for days to capture the drassen airport. My team consists of 8 self-created soldiers with what seems to me reasonable coices - i got a medic, a tech guy, a sniper and spotter team, two leaders and two riflers. Problem is, i always get my ass handed to me like it's nothing. I'm playing on second hardest difficulty (before insane, don't know what exactly it was called in english since my game is in german) because i think i know what i'm doing, but in the end it doesn't seem like it.

I really don't want to increase my money or make it "easier" through the INI files, but also i would like to survive the fricking first sectors :/ Biggest issue seems to be that my soldiers can't hit shit, enemies standing 4-5 cells away can't get hit in the torso of my guys with the initial SMG's - weirdly enough i thing one guy with pistols and Ira (yeah, i'm serious) are hitting the most shots.

Looking around these forums most "tutorial" links are not working anymore sadly, and that's why i've decided to open this thread, hoping there is some activity left and people around that are able to help me out. What i'm looking for would be the most reasonable settings that i should use for a game that is challenging and difficult but not a pain in the ass and barely possible to win since i'm streaming my playthrough and it pretty much suck so re-load every 5 minutes..
