The last thread had become unwieldy at 16 pages.
As I am sharing items between the three mods, this is the common thread for weapon and item requests. Please include at a minimum:
- link to more information
- rational why I should be adding your favourite gun to three different mods (See list in the Common AFS/DL-1.13/UC-1.13 Weapons & Items FAQ to avoid embarrassing incidents of duplication)
- description to item (bonus points if it is usable in-game)
- graphics (bonus points if they are usable in-game, and you are the artist so I don't need to track anyone down for permission)

I have an odd, but unique one. The TOZ-106.
www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2016/07/07/toz-106-survival-bolt-action-short-barreled-shotgun/
It's a Russian bolt-action shotgun with a short barrel, folding stock, and four round detachable box magazine. There's not a lot of info around in English, but most of the popular pictures show it with low-powered optics mounted.
One problem is that it's chambered in 20 GA shells, but I'm sure nobody would blink at something so obscure being rendered in 12 GA or .410 bore.
The main reason I think it would be fitting for JA2 is because it's an odd product of post-communist gun laws. In Russia I believe it's relatively easy to get a smoothbore shotgun, and more difficult to get a real rifle - but things like barrel length don't factor into the legality the same way they do here in the US. That's where this odd little device comes into place. A cheap, small, handy pseudo-carbine that a poor farmer could possibly readily obtain in an area with harsh restrictions on such things, like (presumably) Arulco.
I suppose that might be a silly reason for a video game, but it certainly is unique.

Some business from the last thread:
Mastermaul wrote on Wed, 28 September 2016 22:15I see.
One thing I found strange was that the Stetchkin APS has a shoulder stock/holster combo, but the Mauser C96 does not. Though, I haven't tried to put the C96 in said stock, so forgive me if the capability is already there.
Another small thing about the C96, the C96 sprite still has the M712 fire selector switch. That's a super small detail that I don't think is even noticeable in the smaller inventory sprite though.
Perhaps it was a bias in what I was looking for, but in my quick look for Mauser stock/holsters all of them looked superficially like the one on the Stetchkin so I made a copy. I haven't actually run any of the recent changes in-game yet due to all the changes being in a "base" XML set that can be easily (a night's work) adapted for any of the three mods, so I decided to make a copy rather than use the same stock - the APS and Mausers are different in-game sizes so while attachment isn't a problem, using them as holsters may not fit either the LBE system or graphically.
I've redone some of the details on the C96 so it doesn't look like it has a fire selector. Originally, the C96 was a quick and dirty mod of the IoV M712 - on researching the two there is quite a bit different between the two in that area above the grip.

Yeah, the two stocks are very similar visually. Only real difference is the latches which isn't very noticeable.
I've got another revolver request. The RSh-12.
www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2014/09/17/meet-rsh-12-powerful-revolver-world-russian/
It uses the same 12.7x55mm ammo as the already present ASh-12.7, although I suppose it would probably need its own speedloader/loose ammo item. It would still add more variety to what I think is (correct me if i'm wrong) a single-gun round.
Most pictures show it with upper and lower picatinny rails, so it could functionally be a very high damage, very unwieldy, rather late game analog to the Chiappa Rhino. It's a rather ridiculous firearm but it has lots of personality! I like that in this game with pistols, since with some characters they almost seem like more of a status symbol than a piece of equipment.

I'd like to request new mags, attachments to allow extended mags, angled red dots or irons, and some kind of multi tool, that would allow for wirecutting, forcing doors and lockpicking, with lower bonuses.
By new mags, I mean things like 13 rounds mag for Browning HP, or 10 rounds for .40 S&W variant, 30 round 7.62x51, 17 and 33 rounds mags for 9mm Glocks and so on.
I know this is a massive request and a lot bigger than adding a couple of guns, but new magazines and attachments are a must in my opinion.

More camo items
1) Camo Helmet Covers
Based on the Helmet Cover Mk1. As far as i understand, this is a piece of cloth, coloured in a greenish pattern. Having the same for desert/snow/urban seems fitting and would be great.
2) Camo Armour Covers
Aka clothing. Ingame, clothing (applied to the merc's body) doesn't add camo boni and otherwise there are only the LBE vests and a few armour pieces.
The idea is similar to the Camo Helmet Covers: having some attachments for vests and pants, which add a specific camo bonus to them, in desert/snow/urban/woodland camo. Effectively, they so to say replace clothes.
Suggested camo: 12-15 for pants and 17-20 for vests.
Naturally, it should be impossible to add Desert Pants and Snow Pants to the same item at the same time.
The idea behind the Camo Armour Covers is "one size fits all", meaning: instead of having another dozen pants and 2 dozen vests, there would be only 1 new pant and 1 new vest (actually, 4 each for each of the camo styles) ; but still a lot more flexibility in the camo department.
Also, i advocate against a "mk2" armour/pant cover: a mk2 item would be so to say a ghillie-style item, and this just doesn't feel right outside of woodland camo. This also means i'd advocate against a mk2 desert/snow/urban Helmet Cover.
