Hallo
I am completely confused of JA2, Ja2 gold, Wildfire, 1.13 stuff and so on.
I just wanted to play JA wildfire, which I have in orginial CD and it works good on my windows 10 laptop. I think it is the 6.0 version, so I patched with the orginal updates to 6.06.
So good so far...
1st question: Which is the latest or best version for Wildfire?
2nd question (it is more confusing): I would like to play with more than 1 AE (alternate Ego). I found a way to do this by manipulating the save file with an HEX editor. It should work with just changing one "1" into a "0". Once it has worked and now it doesn´t. Can anyone help me with that? What could be my mistake? What are the requirements for this "cheat"? The problem is, that the "1", that should be there, is already a "0" and I cannot change it. I don´t know why. I think I tried it with version 6.00, 6.02, 6.04 and 6.06, but I am not sure. I only know, that one it has worked and the next 5 times it didn´t.
