I am a big fan of the first edition of JA. I just got my hands on JA2 and although I am familiar with pretty much all of the basics, there is one thing that bothers me. When is the mission day over ???

In JA1 you would wait until the day was over, then you would kind of "go back to the base" where you could repair stuff, train ppl, treat wounds etc. You could have the entire team on training and have guards to protect the areas you have conqured.

I just conqured the village with the church and the drunk priest in, and all my guys have their inventories full and some need healing. So what should I do ? Also, how to train militia and who should do it ?

Thank you in advance !

Ja2 isn't a mission based game. So the day ends whenever you want it to. Bases are just secured sectors that you can train militia in but if the enemy overruns these sectors they aren't yous anymore.

People with high level, leadership scores and teaching skills are the best at training militia. To do this you go into the strategic map (the worldmap the game first starts you in) and click on the selected mercs assign column. Then choose train militia and if you have at least $750 you can train militia.

Good luck and pay attention to the information popups that appear throughout the game. They'll tell you most of what you need to know.

Hey buddy, my English isn't perfect, but I'll try answer.

Firstly about over of day - repair stuff, train etc.

When you creat your IMP character and firstly start compression of time, helicopter discharges your IMP to first sector in Omerta. You are in "combat map" now. After you clean the sector (every enemy is dead) you can leave the combat map to tactical map and in list of your mercenaries on the left you can do everything you can (repair stuff, train, train militia). Just change "Squad 1" next to name of your merc to something other (train, doctor, patient..)

By the way, to train militia you must have more then 20% loyal people in the town. In Omerta you cant train militia.

To healing merc you must have medical kit. You must change "Squad 1" on tactical map to Doctor mode.

Uff, I hate language barrier Smile

Edit : Aaa, Khor was faster, Woody

I still have one question. What to do with all my stuff ? Please dont tell me that I have to put everything in one sector and then walk all the way there everytime I need something.

If I understood you've got a problem with stuff which you can't carry [no free slots]. Simply hire some cheap guys (for example from M.E.R.C.) and make slaves.

Yes, you have to dump everything in one sector and walk (or drive if you've found a vehicle...) there every time you need something. Or, have a squad of cheap mules to carry your baggage for you. Even if you do have 18 mercenaries (which is the maximum you can have at any time) you will not be able to carry all the loot that you get from enemies and towns.

Of course you don't have to move everything to one sector: you can also store dumps of ammunition and supplies in each major town. For convenience, find one sector in each town that you return to often, and put all your spare items there so anytime you're nearby you can take them. That way if you are in the south near Grumm, for example, you won't have to go all the way back to Drassen for a few more grenades, you can just go back to Grumm if you stored some there. I still prefer to choose one big town and call it my base.

Just don't leave important things on the ground unless you have someone to watch over them! People will steal them after a while. If you put things in a town sector where you trained militia, then your militia will guard your stuff for you and you don't need to worry about them being stolen when you're gone.
