I implemented 43 weapons that are almost half of what I need: I don't want to say it out too loud but EVERYTHING works as intended. I can order my weapons from BR without crashes, rifles are in BR rifles section, SAWs are in the SAWs one, what must be single shot only is single shot and so forth..

Now, I mostly copy and paste existing stuff from Items and Weapons .xml's to speed things up. Lately I made a line of SMG, Assault, DMR, SAW out an smg and I discovered a thing: I must set my weapons  WeaponClass as "2", IE Submachinegun. If I use another weapon class my weapons spawn with no ammo and cannot be loaded. Are my weapons going to give bonuses to snipers/machinegunners? Is this an issue that only happens when turning a given class of weapons into another? Just wandering..

If ammo ain't working, check the ammo related xml and values

might be that your 15-shot 9mm pistol magazine ain't working with a Sniperrifle, etc

I'd start comparing with some existing stuff

like, what about caliber,magazine, etc

if it should use some ammo, is there an ammi-item for the purpose already?

like, if you want it to use a .50-ammo-belt, you're probably have to create that first

if it should use something that already exist, check if it's realy pointing to that (what's the value in caliber-tag, etc - just compare with existing stuff)

and if you ever try to edit magazines.xml, that is a pain. it's very strict about what needs to be where - so unless you realy must, just use existing ones ...

I managed to get it working, IE turning an smg into a rifle/AR. Probably I made a mistake I solved without even realizing. I needed ten new ammo magazine and I do agree that the magazines.xml is a total PAIN. I might add 50 rounds drums for 5.56 and 7.62, but first I'll need a vacation..
