I am sure that many of you are familiar with practicing to raise your skills prior to beginning work on the main game. My question is this: I know that you can get away doing this in JA2, but can you still do this in Urban Chaos without being penalized? In other words, will this interfere with the outcome of the game?

I haven't completed the game yet so I don't know if anything interfers with the outcome. I have a hunch that the game mechanics work the same as JA2. There are tweaks that I have been using i.e., planting and disarming mines to gain explosive experience; carrying heavy loads to build strength, beating up those dangerous cows, thowing knives, gernades...etc. I usually find that the best way to raise stats once they are over 30 - 35, is to use them.

I would suggest rasing what you can and play the game to the conclusion. If bad things would happen, you can learn from the experience.

Play and see what happens.

I am having a heck of a fun time with this game.

Where do you even find mines? I only find TNT in the beginning of the game, so I blow myself up alot.

Well, I did a little cheating with JAPE and one of the mines end up in my merc's kit and I just couldn't let it go to waste:)

Another quick build up of explosives skill option is to get a Merc like Treavor to train the rest of your squad in explosives.
