Tripod mounted Browning M2 would be tricky to be realistic with.

Tripod and weapon would be two different items and I doubt a single merc could carry both. They would be VERY heavy. They would be slow to set up: the tripod needs to be placed, and sand bagged to weight it down, then the weapon needs to be mounted, adjusted, and loaded... That could easily take two mercs two turns or more, not to mention how long it would take them to stop and fill the sandbags. None of this is something you want to be doing while you are being shot at. And once it is set up moving it would be a pain in the butt.

Maybe a tripod mounted version could be used by mercs but only if it was in-place before enemies entered the sector, as a defensive weapon?



Game balance also needs to be considered here. I know I'm the one who suggested Browning M2 but it needs to be done in a way that doesn't turn it into a super-weapon that completely dominates the battlefield. Being able to set up a series of M2 in a defensive position and just mow the enemy down wouldn't really be all that fun. At least with only one on the robot it helps keep the balance, imo.
