First a bit of an introduction:
I want to thank everyone who worked on this mod, I was playing JA2 1.13 for the upteenth time when I decided to try something different and so far the game looks great. I am playing on aan Aspire One netbook and the game plays great. I think this has got to be an ideal netbook game as it allows for interruptions and over all looks good on a netbook. I would not want to play an action game on a netbook.
Anyhow, I went into a sector and got a it looks like an npc named Leon was killed by bloodcats. I am not sure if I should go to a previous saved game. Am I hosed here or should I continue? Not really looking for a spoiler just am I going to miss something great if I don't meet Leon.

I hope i don't spoil too much writing this: Leon is a playable character (quite a decent one) and he has a vehicle with him. So you miss a good playable character and a vehicle.
(the vehicle may become avaible otherwise, earlier or later due to faulty scripting, but whether or not the vehicle stays in the sector i don't know, either way try if you can get the vehicle if not... maybe it's better to go back to a previous save game especially if you have one shortly before this bloodcat-related drama occured)
The jeep is a more versatile vehicle than e.g. the railroad/ locomotive or the boat as these vehicles are much more limited as to where they can go.
