Currently, non-fixed stocks in NCTH reduce draw speed just like they used to. In compensation, as I understand it, they have a penalty to counter force accuracy, and have an additional aiming level.

Problem I see here, is that this makes fixed stocks faster overall. Which sort of defeats the purpose of attaching a folding or telescoping stock... the idea is to make the weapon faster, yes? And it's even more problematic for weapons that come with a default telescoping or fixed stock, which is essentially most of the AR-15 and AK variants.. everything except the oldest weapons.

Anyone have any solutions as to how to re-balance these attachments? Right now I think the drawbacks severely outweigh the benefits.

My suggestions are to either eliminate the additional aiming level and just go with the autofire accuracy penalty, or else to eliminate the additional aiming level and also reduce the weapon's accuracy. The Arulco Folding Stock mod changed the recoil to 1.25 of the default, I think, which might also be another option. I was pretty close to just using that mod and being done with the issue, but have decided against it.

Ideas?

Folded/telescopic stocks are not installed on guns to make them faster/slower/etc.

Their purpose is to make guns SMALLER for carrying and transport.

We finally have a sensible implementation of folding stocks with HAM5 item transformation feature. Now it's time to drop that gamey faster draw/worse accuracy system.

You fold the stock of your rifle when the battle is over and you want to put your weapon in your backpack or other LBE gear.

Ah, gotcha. When do you figure HAM5 will be done with testing? Or else, how stable is it, currently?

The problem with HAM5 is that Headrock is AWOL (again) and didn't leave his source behind. So it doesn't matter how stable it is (I'd say it's pretty stable), testing could be finished tomorrow or in 3 months, depending on his return.

Point of clarification, I upped recoil for all weapons by 1.25 over the original v1.13-like values. These were later tweaked over subsequent edits. The 1.25x recoil has nothing to do with stocks themselves.

The "Gamey" implementation of folding Stocks is comprised of not having the Folding Stock attachment do anything except sit there on the weapon waiting to act as a trigger for a merger which changes the gun into a different gun, its folded/unfolded stock counterpart, with different stats. Differences between folded/unfolded stock over multiple stats.

The "Gamey" implementation of telescopic stocks is that it is "faster" in terms of AP to draw, in exchange for being less accurate. there is no transformation of item involved here. There is also a precision AR-15 stock available which increases accuracy, and lowers draw in exchange for being very expensive.

Both the above are dependent on New Attachment System. HAM 5 simply allowed the elimination of the Folding Stock attachment as the item to item transformation could be accomplished directly with the gun item.

This is something that's in HAM5, or...?

On a side note, something like a Knoxx stock for the auto shotguns would be pretty sweet.

Should have clarified myself. I'm referring to my own projects, including Alrulco Folding Stock. Incidentally the most recent version of AFS has a HAM 5 optimized variant.
