I see 1.13 has all the code externalized into xml files, wouldn't it be possible to just take a new game engine, like Unity or maybe even GameMaker2, and just take all the code that has been done already and reference these files?
also for graphics: wouldn't it be possible to just read out the map data and transpose it into 3d isometric? for example to make a mapgenerator that automatically replaces all the 2D objects like a wall, grass terrain, a wooden crate, with a 3d equivalent?
I just dream that this could all be possible and would make a fantastic base for a JA1.13 in a new engine, ontop of which we could build a new , refreshed JA!
