crap, i forgot to add more info on the gun

the gun is pretty acurate from 0 to 400 in the base version (no bipod or optics)

and if you add the bipod,some good optics and "match" ammo the range is increased to 500


all the sights are integrated to the Picatinny rail on top so you can add optic,holographic or any other

the plastic mount in front of the gun has been replaced bt a light metal one that also has a picatiny rail on it

And? You could give the same performance specs for a normal '36. You could argue for a name change now that an armed force has standardized the setup, but there's really no point in adding an identical gun.

As the CovertOps trait gives the player a chance to infiltrate past the enemy lines, some kind of weapons with disassembling/assembling could be useful. The enemies will stop the player if the CovertOps/Spy merc has too much weapons and/or too good weapons. A sniper rifle taken into parts could resolve the issues for the infiltration units. For example, players wants to get a nice sniping position from somewhere before the attack, goes past the enemy lines unnoticed (weapon disassembled) goes to the roof, assembles the rifle and ready to give clandestine fire support if needed for the main assault force. I believe the Vintores VSS is really easily transported in a compact suit case.

well i checked bobby rays and i dont know if the specs apply ingame but as i said before the KA4 has better range,the regular max range is 365 while the KA4 is 400 but as you said it is mostly the same as RAS, but KA4 has more range

anyway as i said before its the same as the norwegian G36KA2 but only being diffrence that g36 optics were remowed and the rifle butt was changed

the diffrence beetween the regular 36 is that its Very rielable because most of the plastic was replaced by metal alloys

also KA4 has the ability to launch rifle grenades and its lighter than the regular g36k

365 and 400 are in the same ballpark, you can't just compare the approximate real range of a gun with the balanced/adjusted ingame range and say it's better.
The RAS forearm in game looks a lot like the KAC model, which is aluminum as well. And the normal G36 can launch rifle grenades, there's even an instruction video somewhere. Oh, and the RAS is lighter.

Just fire up the XMLEditor and rename it.

wait are you comparing the G36KA4 to the regular G36 ?

im coparing it to the G36K, because the actual name of the gun is G36K A4

its barrel is 5 cm longer than the regular G36K and it has picatiny rail instead of optics also the the front of the gun is light metal instead of plastic so it is more riealible than the G36K and you can actualy mount 4 things in the front

The G36K RAS in game is definitely not the sh... airsoft replica you posted, the forearm might be artistic license - ask a modder, those rails are damn hard to draw - but bears some resemblance to this (alumnum!) model: (ignore the carry handle, they can easily be exchanged for the top rail)

As for how to fix it yourself:
There's a program called 'XMLEditor' in your JA2 folder. Open it, go to Items>Guns and search the G36K RAS, double click that row and change details as you wish. Name should be first tab and range somewhere to the right.

Hello everyone.Sorry if my post not related to the topic.But i want ask very long time ago.

The stock 1.13 mod have a very little choose in LBE gear and a original old maps.So my question is:Are there any planing to add more LBE stuff to original stock mod and change all old standart maps for example on Wildfire maps.?

Well it really want to play original campaigh without any additional mods like AFS or AIMNAS,but when i try to play i see there is a very little choose in LBE\armor\addtional items stuff.And those old maps...they so booring.So,playing original mod without aditional stuff\maps realy booring.

I don't say about weapons.There is a really lot of weapons in stock mod,but other stuff-really little to choose.

There is a mappack with wildfire maps that you can use with stock 1.13. Have a look at the archive at kermi's.

Adding more items and LBE stuff is supoosed to be the duty of mod(der)s. Hence in order to have a different set of items you will need an item mod like e.g. IoV as well.

Well i know about Wildfire maps,but if look more deep.All new features maded by moders first time will come in test in stock mod.As for me i really want to test new features in game and not waiting for adaptation for other mods Like AFS,UC,AIMNAS.I think it will be much better to test with more stuff(LBE gear,armors,attachments,other stuff).So maybe made Wildfire map a part of stock mod,and add more intresting stuff like i mention before(in time to time)

Sorry for my not realated post,i just don't want to make a topic about that(i hoped this topic visiting much more often than other topics)

When I made the images for the G36K RAS it was when there was no actual RAS systems released by H&K. Hence they look as they do. To remake them in the actual look wouldn't be that hard, but at the same time wouldn't serve a lot of purpose either. I'd just rename the ones ingame if it's that important, but really there are so many G36 variants out there now it's like the AK of the 2000's...

I see a lot of requests for a lot of rare oddball guns.
When I go to a throwback rural dictatorship I expect to see a collection of old revolvers and pump and lever action guns. At least initially. Eventually the better troops will have assault rifles and finally the exotic stuff.

Where is the Winchester .30-30?

I put a request over in AIMNAS thread but wooden stocked lever action rifles are a perfect fit for Arulco's early troops and civilians for regular 1.13.

This is a no brainer. There is already a Winchester Trapper in .44 but .44 isn't the right caliber for this gun, you really want .30-30 which has the power of 7.62x39mm but shorter range because you can't load pointy bullets in a tube magazine. .30-30 is the popular caliber for this weapon.

Every gun that fires .30-30 is a lever action that I am aware of, and Mossberg makes one in synthetic with rails on it. The 464.

I would like to do this. Seems like this worked in the past.

Opinions about the gun, however?

It is a common real world gun, placed perfectly in a South American (?) nation and is a nice change of pace. It hits as hard as an AK at a slightly shorter range. It has been around for over a hundred years and it's something you would really find in a rural farming area, unlike much of the exotic stuff and I'm not even talking about the Sci-Fi guns.

I'm not saying it is a good choice as a main battle rifle, but that isn't the point of many guns in JA2. I sometimes build concept characters and try to make do with less than optimal, but realistic, equipment for as long as possible. I've beat the game with revolvers and pump shotguns (OK, and mortars) and it was a blast.

The hunter trait should benefit users of this gun as well by making it faster to chamber a round, same as it does with pump shotguns.

I know it isn't easy to add a caliber, but I can dream.

I love AIMNAS and I love big maps. AIMNAS was all I played after I finished UC because AIMNAS was pretty much just an item mod back then (like an amped up 1.13). But now I play 1.13 main *and* AIMNAS alternately because big maps makes it essentially a different tactical game and the battles are longer so I need to really have some time to kill. Therefore, since I play both both main *and* AIMNAS they both should have all the guns I like, just my opinion.

People posting in here really ought to look hard at playing AIMNAS because it is so gun heavy with lots of variants, though it isn't completely ready yet in the latest version the early sectors are fine to battle in. Do Ctrl-GABBI and spawn lots of enemies. With the huge gun selection of AIMNAS and big maps it's a lot of fun.

Rails are ugly all the time but form should follow function, and the advantages of a rail cannot be denied.

How about the Adcor Defense B.E.A.R. Elite? It's a piston driven (Adcor claims to have solved the problem of carrier tilt) AR15 with a free-floating barrel and a nifty forward reversible charging handle in addition to the stranded rear charging handle. To my great surprise it made it to Phase 2 in the Army's Individual Carbine competition.

What about the 4.5 mm air pistols and rifles used in competitions? They are very accurate, but not designed for military applications.. however, they could still cause some damage to unarmored opponents at close range.

Until last week I hadn't played v1.13 Vanilla since the 4870, instead playing v1.13 Urban Chaos or DL. Where enemies had more defined spawn tables and almost a sense of military organization.

And since playing the current build I just have to say there are just way too many stupid(read retarded) weapons in this game now. Yes yes I am full aware everyone will just say you don't have to use them but its seriously over the top now.

I see Mercenaries deploying to a combat zone with 22LRs? Enemy forces using 22LR derringers and .410 gauge shotguns? Weapons you'd only see literally in an absolute worst case scenario.

There's just way too many random or stupid weapons being used by what is supposed to be a fighting force that has been fighting an insurgency for how ever many years.

I'd love nothing more than to see early enemies using old surplus equipment because that'd be believable for third world countries. In fact nothing made we happier than after killing thirty red shirts in my second battle and wading through endless 22LR pistols (the majority high end sporting handguns that would cost more than surplus handguns) to finally find a SLME that could actually reach out and touch someone.

From a military standpoint everything at the moment is a logistical nightmare and I fear there's just too wide a spread of weapons in the basic version.

Put the 22LR weapons up for sale if you really want but unless it is implemented you need to actually expend ammunition during marksmanship training, I doubt they'll be widely used.

Yes I killed a fair few enemies with 22LRs and even managed to snag a couple of 410 gauge headshots. Automatic, high capacity 22LRs like the MGV or 180 were fun it'd take twenty bullets to do what two or three centre fire pistol rounds to do.

It was challenging, yes, but the straight 9x19mm, .38 Spc or .45 ACP pistol battles of the original JA2 were great fun too in the opening stages of the game.

What I'm trying to say is there's just too many requests for weapons to be implemented that will a) only be used until you literally find a rock to throw at the enemy instead, b) add more useless spawns to the enemy data and c) detract further from realism of weapons utilised by the Arulco military. .

Hello Gents, I would like to see The G36K A4 in the mod. The last time (1-2 years ago ?) I proposed the gun but failed at providing specifications, but today I came prepared (I think)

I would like to see some ARs and Rem 700s in 300 Blackout.

It doesn't mention it in the wiki page, but AAC claims that subsonic 300BLK fired from an M4 with one of their suppressors is quieter than an MP5SD.
