Due the methodical breach of terms of distribution agreement by SF side the agreement between SF and i-Deal Games was terminated.

uhm... so much information... sheesh... Razz

No really- would you care to give us some more details. Terminated ? How exactly... did both parties agree to end it or is it one side saying 'screw you we're through' or what. Also there were some people trying to get the patch(es)...

(And what the heck was that contract all about anyways ?)

The first case. SF lost granted rights for distribution and we got it, it means that all rights granted by SF to distributors in particular territories keep in force for some time yet, but all such rights are now non-exclusive and we have no obligation to such rights holders.

So, will Wildfire dissapear from the market or do you guys have enough resources and rights to keep distributing it yourself?

As far as I know Ideal-Games haven't got enough resources to publish and distribute it. I'm affraid that now the game is almost dead.

Though I'd be happy to be mistaken.

Does this mean that you can issue the patch. I know you're probably sick of people asking about the patch, but any info would help.

Actually, my thoughts were, does this mean the product could be patched, reworked minus the SF logo stuff, and then redistributed with better advertising through another distributor, that would perhaps take this 'finished' product and sell it, with i-deal keeping full rights and thus making some real money on it.

a Request:
When WF gets redone, could the executable not be supercompressed and locked.

Many of our tools work well with most versions or can be adapted to MOD most versions, WF is an exception to that Rule, and since we are looking at years ahead without JA product, I believe most the community would like the ability to mod things to suit themselves.

In fact, I recommend that you keep the Modders in the forefront of your mind, as I believe they are the primary audience for WF.

Thanks.

If should Ideal find a new publisher? Would the new patch for the new publisher be compatible with SF's Wildfire? What about those who already purchase SF's Wildfire? Does that mean we have to buy another Wildfire but under another publidher?

Trying to re-publish an already released game may be counter productive & not worth the effort.
Wildfire Gold ....

Perhaps just the patched Wildfire files available for download via an internet store payable by CC might be enough.
Serge & Romualdas could probably set that up at their I-Deal Games site .... publicity would be a bit limited but at least all revenue minus CC processing company fees & bandwidth would be theirs.

Main problem with this sort of operation is piracy especially if the download is relatively small.

If legal proceedings by I-Deal against SF are concluded Romualdas may now be able to explain those mysterious & annoying bugs in Wildfire.

Ah, Fred, there is only one bug in this game - Strategy First...

I told it before somwhere - SF sent game to shelves without our approval while QA tests were unfinished - Games Factory's testers were at the first quarter of the game at those time - the most advanced of them got Chitsena and Cambria... Due of it all the people who bought the game become a beta tester and during first three month after release all we were able to do was issuing of quik fixes and collecting of bug reports for patch - what happens then you all know yourselves...

Man, you`re so full of it. There was about a dozen people on this board and "another" board, including me, saying the game was not properly beta-tested. No you said, that's not true, no, no, no to everything we said. And now you are taking it all back in one post just because you can blame Strategy First now? Bah...

Man, did you really think that sides of commercial agreement will ever blame each other even if they know there are reasons for it? If it's so you r to grow up first. The difference of my current position with my previous posts are due I'm not tied by any agreement with SF now - I have no reasons to cover them anymore...

There are many 'interesting' details will be open to public very soon...

It's the way to hurt SF badly?? May be it's not very ethical to reveal such detailes for the public? After all it's your fault - I mean what happened between I-Deal and SF...

Who cares who's at fault? The important thing from our (the consumer) point of view is who is going to support us (ie. put out the patch).

Even so you could have said something like "I am not at liberty to answer your question" But no, you'd rather give people, who were a lot politer then you and Mr. Wildfire by the way, a ban from the forum just because their criticism was right and knowing that pissed you off. Who needs to grow up huh?

Isn't there a site where games can be downloaded when their distributor goes out of business, or no longer supports the game?
