Hallo!

Anyone of you with some JA2-related editors, i'm willing to host them at a one place (atleast as an mirror, if nothing else). So far, I've got STI-edit and SLF-explore tools, but if anyone has more, send me a PM.

The files are here:

Slf-explore blows chunks. Use this program for all your JA2 unpacking needs. Thx to Shed23 on this one.

Added some new editors, courtesy of Khor.

Also in the load of stuff Khor sent me, were JA2 1.06 patch and the UB 1.01 patch. They are uploaded at http://kermi.pp.fi/ja2/patches

If anyone's got more of anything, i'll be happy to receive.

edit: found a 1.13z patch for Deadly Games from my HDD. Uploaded also.

Great list, but I'm still looking for one thing... I would like an IMP editor, with which I can change their color of clothes + hair. I found one, but it doesn't work with 1.13. Can you help?

I believe you can do that with Proedit, which is already part of your install. Although it's bit tricky to use, as you have edit the proper file for your diffculty/equipment level, and the only way to do it is to rename the file as prof.dat, edit it and rename it back to the original filename.

Well I renamed the correct file but when I open proedit and hit import I just get 'cannot open MercImport.csv'

What I'm doing wrong?

And I assume I can only edit before I start a game?

If your using 1.13 then Proedit is already there. It's located in your 1.13 data folder then in the binary data folder.

Figured I'm better posting this question in here than making a new thread.

The other day I was scanning through the forums and found a post about two editors from some site that was closing down I think and one of the editors was for converting STI's to PNG files. I didn't think I wanted it at the time :roulette: but as I'm thinking about making some new ammo magazine's I'd like to give it a try but I can't for the life of me find them anywhere :computer2: . I've even tried using the search function to search for PNG files but came up with 150posts all with nothing to do with what I'm looking for. If anyone could point me to where those files are I'd very much appreciate it.

That could possibly be the tool but I don't think so as the one I saw had a gui and could convert PNG's back to STI's as well. Thanks though I will give birdflu's tool a try till I find the other one I saw.

The XML editor located here http://kermi.kapsi.fi/ja2/editors/ is version 0.27... it just crashes. Where can I find the latest version?

wow... so much information there. Are you being intentionally rude?

Allow me to provide possibilities that you have not considered. So let's say I deleted the XML editor from my "install dir". (It was crashing and I wanted it re-installed.) Now let's say I spent hours searching Google and this forum and the wiki for answers (notice how I provide the wiki address not assuming you know it or which one I speak of but also for the BENEFIT of others?). Let's say that an older version was installed either from the OUT-DATED information here or from a file found on my HD that was downloaded long ago.

Now, politely answer my original question, not just for me but for the benefit of all. Do not assume the readers know all the little details that you do.

Had you given all that information along with your question - in other word had you not assumed the readers know all the little details that you do Razz - you would probably got another/better answer.

Anyway, the latest version i do know of is in the latest release download package.

Latest XML editor is always included in latest Single Click Installers. I'd suggest you grab one of those.

Every 1.13 installer of the last few years comes with the then-newest version of the XML Editor. And if you don't provide background like you just did, I'll assume the simplest -and from experience, astonishingly often accurate- explanation that you 'forgot' to check the obvious location.

The JA2wedit64bit.7z doesn't work on JA2 GOLD 1.12. The version actually is 2.4, not 2.4.1.
don't understand why not use 2.4.1 to be a 64bit version?
