there is an option that allows you to train vet militia... search for veteran inside ja_options.ini

I already killed Mike in Baku H13, but zhan he appears again in prison basement and he wants somezhing about dr.Rassmusen. When I escort Rassmusen to the Doc (G8) they talked a little and than Butch automatically join me. And Mike wants rassmusen dead. So what is the point of all that. And who is 47? And who is missing mercenary which I sould find him?

Another thing: Dante's mission. Is wooden chest in sector I16 and where? I didn't find anything.

And i must say that I don't have any freezes att all.

I have encountered a weird problem, and one I suspect others may encounter too...

When I started the game, I just got the regular JA2, not RR.
Previously installed are the vanilla JA2, 1.07 patch, 1.13, and the new inventory mod.

I installed the RR mod following the instructions, but I didn't copy over the ja2.ini file. That resulted in the game not even bothering to check the new data...
Copying over the ini file from the RR folder enabled the game to load the mod, and from there on there were no problems (it's more stable than 1.13 with the inventory mod).

Just thought this might be of interest.

I've just started playing this great mod. It's really something special. Many thanks for your hard work Scorpion!

One thing I'm curious about is how to go about recruiting Iron at the start. So far he refuses to work for me and just calls me boring and says 'I have enough of that already' when I click Recruit in the dialogue box. I have tried with Irina and also with an IMP who has 99 leadership points! Is it based on sector loyalty or something? Note that I'm playing Beta 17.

Apart from that, can't wait to progress further!

Iron is a little too expensive for my taste..
Chrissy is much more useful as a militia-trainer, and well worth every penny once her marksmanship improves..

Regarding the veteran militia game-freeze issue: I just restarted an INSANE b17 game, and have had no freezes at all yet..but disabled veteran militia, while increasing militia size to 36. Interstingly enough, when 36 reg. militia (unsupported by mercs) are attacked by 25 man enemy platoon..all militia die. Every time. Enemy loses 2-4 men at most.

the good thing about Iron is that he doesn't ever raise his salary and that he ranks as one of the top mercenaries.

getting him later isn't stupid though, there's a bunch of early-on RPC's with daily salary in RR so this is something to be keeping an eye on.

talking about salaries - "team daily cost" sure shows only AIM and MERC persons. so, when i had Thor, Buns, Razor and Gasket, i saw the number as 5974. nothing about 14,7K i was paying Iron, Chrissy, Iggy, Mole, Leon, Havoc & Mike. money really is not a big problem in the game, but what happens when i have not enough to pay them at midnight, somebody just leaves? so it's a good thing Irina, Ilja, Dimitri, Avi, Yueng and Convert work for free. but the pay is not always mentioned when recruiting somebody. i'd say Chrissy and Leon are very good for their pay, also Butch. and Havoc seems overpriced. but that depends who you already have in your team and for what you need to hire anybody.

yeah it's almost impossible to have a perfect daily fee given that players estimate different skills differently and of course it matters a lot when relative to game progress a RPC is hired.

can you maybe list those RPC's with daily salaries that don't have that salary shown during recruitment process?
it's some differences in the scripts

ahmad belongs to the same faction as warlord.

this is one of the few remaining aspects of factions in ja2 RR. I know it's not obvious enough.

Great mod scorpion! thanx for your efforts!. I have all towns exept trabzon but soon will fall.
To avoid the crashes when you place the squads intactical o any other similar bug (militia etc), I always switch to windowed mode, enter the sector or advance time to skip the problem, save the game and back to full screen, that is something to look into cause I have rescued a lot of savegames this way, I never went back to a older one. Of course Alt+S 5000 times per day, but is okay.

hold on there for a second, you say, in windowed mode, the freezes don't occur? or did my wishful thinking misunderstand your statement?

anyway, glad you made it to trabzon. many a player was probably stopped by freezes.

windowed mode really helps. had it twice today: going into prison cellar and when enemy attacked a mine sector where i had my squad. both times game crashed out to desktop (tried 2-3 times). changed to wm, made new save when already in cellar (or enemy already in sector), changed to full screen again and no problem to continue.

use ctrl-left mouse klick on the well. The code is "hidden" there, you have to "find" it. it will appear after you have "searched" the well using ctrl-left klick

great. So if a next version is made, i'll have to advise players to use windowed mode when loading sectors.

yeah i hope people read it. It's one of the top-frequent question, along with "how can i make BR sell all weapons at day 0?"

seriously, some time ago during one of the betas i stopped working with the NewInv/ beta 20plus changes.

Too many steps to the wrong direction, too many wrong decisions taken and the game not really fun to play anymore.

i'll give the next somewhat "offcial" sounding version of 1.13 (now including NewInv and a boatload of related/ unrelated mess) another chance and see if it's acceptable now. Till then, i work on other things.

I guess modding the NewInv will be the prerogative of the innovative new generation of up-and-coming modmakers.

Hi,

today I finally found some time to continue my current RR game. I haven't had a single freeze except for the D2 sector, where I had a bunch of freezes during an enemy counterattack. Playing in windowed mode did not seem to make a difference.

Now I have conquered Batumi, and the monster quest started, Batumi Mine is infected. However, I am too stupid to find the entrance to the underground sectors of Batumi Mine. I have looked in H3 and in the adjacent sectors - can you give me a hint?

Edit: I found the entrance to the H3 underground sector more or less by accident, was not too obvious. Looking forward to the monster hunt Smile

Felix

i don't quite understand the question.

RR installs pretty much independant to 1.13 as it has its own custom data folder and its own custom exes. I think you can install rr over almost any version of 1.13 as long as the backup files in the /data folder are compatible.
