Well I have a filling that I was misunderstanded. Nevertheless I thought this is a whole new mod, because of great maps. So maybe next time also new REAL story line.

In fact the story of the original WF didn't change too much about the story line from regular JA2 (as far as I can tell).

It does not matter how big are the differences - any small change in a single map which tied to story cutscenes not tied to engine changes and vice versa will cause big troubles.

But while JA2 1.13 is source based mod, technically there is no problem to apply new story - it's only the question of programmers qualification and... time... The last one is the reason why there are not so big differences in Ja2 Wildfire to original JA2 - applying completely new story request too much time... and while the engine itself is of terrible quality it was considered worthless...

Is there any new (SVN?) version of WildFire working with 100 AP (And NIV system?).

I tried that 100AP version and it's in my opinion a good step to make JA2 better so it would be nice to see WilFire with that...

That freeze should usually end after some time, as the game needs some time to set up all lights. Have you waited a moment, to see what happens?


And yes, the mod is compatible with 100AP (I'm currently playing with it).

M9 is the weapon cache near Balime, right?

That's strange that you get a freeze there, in my current game I took the sector without any problems (and the alarm was started as well). Maybe you should try to go there at a different time of day to see if that would work.

hi there...

since resolving the sound problem i have been playing at Insane mode and really love it.i will be returning here for all my observations after i finish the game.
although there is something i do not understand. my team reaches only 18 mercs when in the ini. that i checked it says 24. when i try to hire a new one the game tells me that my team is complete.
how can i make this work?

You will probably need to run the game with a ManyMercs .exe in order to get the benefits of more team members (though changing the game exe will probably force a restart of the game, as the save game will probably not be compatible).

Just look for a post from SpaceViking, he has a download link in his signature.

As for the imps: you'll have to use 3 male and 3 female, as they are tied to the voice sets for the imps. 3 voice sets for male characters and 3 for the females.

and so i did. but when i click on this B007.exe icon and after i followed the site's instructions it falls through. says something about the ini. and crashes. i mean i put the files on the ja folder and when i restart a new game i tried to hire more than 18 mercs just to try it and it did not allow me to do so.

i even unistalled and reinstalled the hole game process but the same happens. what am i missing here?
please any help

As far as I remember, you'll need the JA2_options.ini placed in the Data-Wildfire6.06 (or whatever it is called in your installation) folder. At least that's what I did, and for me it works...

smeagol: is it because i have a version installed of 1.13 1.0.0.2085? do i have to install another version? and how can i have a fully up to date version with all new fixtures and stuf (PCM, S.V. ManyMercs Mod, PossumDBB and H.A.M. 2.Cool ?
could you please tell me the order of each installation? and how to install each one?
i mean i read the various threads here but i am lost... it is caotic.

i am just not an expert on computers and i am trying to figure out everything here.

smeagol: i just clicked on the "kaerar's one click installer" and it seems i am downloading PCM plus B007c SVN. can i install this on my already existing 1.13 wf6.06 folder?

I agree, it's really a mess to get a working version. But once you did it, you know, why it was worth the effort. Smile


Your easiest bet would probably be to get Scheinworld's one-click installer.

Link to forum thread for one-ckick installer

Then get the WF Mod package, follow the steps in the read-me (that is, copy and rename the Data-1.13 folder), unzip the WF_Mod. And you're ready to go.


Also don't miss the AlphaItem Mod and the updated maps (just follow the download links in my sig) Smile


Hope this helps to set things up.

and on what concerning the AlphaItem Mod... i downloaded all the 13 files... what do i do? i extract each one of them and place them in the ja2 folder or the data of 1.13 or in the one 1.13wf6.06 which first?

(oh my God!!! this is an unbelievable maze- isn't there a way to install all this new things in just one click installer?) i have no idea what to do first...

Only need the last (number 15) ,and they go into the wildfire data folder ,. When you have extracted into the WF Data folder open the new (item)folder and cut/paste all folders back into the WF data folder , yes to all overwrites .

HAHAHA! Sorry , been there too mate , keep on trying and within a few months you'll know how to modify your mods ....

ok maybe i'll let things like this for now.

just one more thing
the ja2 ini. that i see in my data1.13 folder is different from the ones (ja2.ini and wf6.06.ini) that i find in the datawf6.06 folder. so for rearranging the number of my merc team (up to 32) where do i change it? (i also have to say that the 2 .ini files in the datawf6.06 folder are smaller and there is no mentioning on the number of mercs i can have.) do i have to delete them and replace them with a copy of the first one? or do i simply have to copy/paste the one from data1.13 overwriting it?

I'm fairly sure you only need to alter the first .ini editor in the root (main) folder . Think all info etc. there , I don't use it much , sorry . Click on ini editor exe. to start .

yes , but why not give 100 ap a real chance before you return to 'normal' points ? It's not at all bad ! Read a few threads about the system , this game isn't a 'pick up ,play , then throw away type of game , it's thoughtful Very Happy

Some maps have alternate versions. The game choses on a fifty-fifty basis, when a new game is started. This helps to increase re-play value. Wink

There has been some small trouble with militia. Grumm now is on lines F, G and H. When I take that small militia map to redistribute them, there are G, H and I lines on it and I can not send anybody into F2. If I train militia long enough, that sector will also be filled.

In Balime I had L11 and L12 full of "green" militia. L11 was attacked and lost

i started a new topic on Combat Academy on various new ideas for the ja2 1.13wf6.06 but now that i came back i just can't find it anymore.

anyone knows where it is?
someone called Will Gates (i think) mentioned something about the possibility of training militia in Omerta, plus the fact that i could you some empty slots i don't remember the number to add some own characters, probably he was talking about the ini. file.

can anyone answer ?

it happened to me too. i had meltdown that many did not like. then when i fired her noone wanted to come to my team from the AIM. so i moved on a bit by myself and conquered a city, i think, so after a while everything returned to normal and i was able to rehire from thst agency.
i do not know, maybe is one of the features of this game.... boooh
you could try the same... after a while it unblocks
