Hi. I play vanilla JA2 Gold, expert and ironman difficulty. The enemy use some unfair advantage, he almost always hit me with any shitty weapon, on almost every location (often to head), but my best merc Ivan MARKSMANSHIP 97, with STEYR-AUG (sniper scope, laser sight) is not even comparable to magic skills of simple enemy soldiers holding bare MINI-14s.
For ex. my merc is on roof, the enemy is 25 boxes far away and shots me like a rabbit. So I

Well my idea was to play JA2 just like good old JA1 without option to save during combat, it makes the game somehow more challenging, but not necessarily megalomaniac. I don

Novice of rare Bobby Ray make for very interesting games. Also satisfying for the thieves, as good equipment became much more sought-after.
Some of these days I would play such a game. Not soon, though. The limitation put on Heavy Weapons are too much.

plusBest items from the beginning could really ruin game.
This is very true. Having the best gear at any stage of the game takes away from the challenge and makes it too easy.
Hope you get your NO install sorted out, take Lockie's advice and read OT's installation notes. Once it's running, look through the Night Ops forum in "Other campaigns". Quite a lot of praise and a great deal of humour, too. Try to avoid any spoilers, though.
PS: Lockie advised, in an earlier post, that the "fecal option" was amusing but, ultimately, irritating. Gorro managed to find a use for it, however, so it's really up to you. Once you've discovered this novel invention, that is...
