maybe on http://ja2v113.schtuff.com/

for every mod there can be:
- name
- features
- storyline: new/old
- (manual)
- homepage url
- download
- language (i prefer to put only english mods at wiki)
- etc.

Well, I didn't delete it. So I don't know what happened.


Yes, I will test it, just as soon as I re-install your mod. I gutted my harddrive I had all my JA2's installed on and have not put it back on yet. Heck I just re-installed regular versions of JA2 the other day.

Been trying to also test Zilpin's spread pattern mod and something else. But my play time keeps getting cut lately.

in fact, the micro mod would not be compatible with the spread pattern mod... But the fact that it isn't shows exactly what 1.13 lacks as a modmaking base.

cuz it uses a modified exe... it would be compatible to zilpin's mod if i wouldn't have had to hack the exe...

However, the micromod doesn't remove any functionality from vanilla 1.13, it just adds, this is the interesting part of it...

Ok I understand now. I thought it was for RR. No, I won't test this with Zilpins mod, I ment I was also trying to test Zilpins mod. But I have a fresh install of 1.13 that I can test this with now.

it hardly overwrites a thing. the entire game looks like vanilla 1.13 with the exception that the player gets to free additional characters.

i'll try to get it tested before i compile a public version. i can send you the files too if you want.


MM: the link that i posted is in fact for yet another mod (custom bodytype)

the custom bodytype should b compatible with pretty much any ja2 version.

the micromod i talk about would be in a similar fashion (has one exe for 1.13 and one for vanilla ja2)
it's not yet public, but it should mark the starting point of a series of micro- and mini-project that i want to do.

it is the basic version that allows to use characters that used to be non playable in the vanilla games to be used as full mercenaries

check the readMe for who they are, around 10 or something new playable characters

there'll be another version with two more, but this version is less intrusive.

hey Seraph, just wanted to give you some feedback to your wildfire merc mod.

installed it over my english 1.13 release 1.0 + wildfire maps and DBB mod 8.16 and so far it works perfectly. exceot for the ineviteable language mix, which is no problem at all. really like the new characters, make the game a little more interesting again.

would you probably care to open a separate thread for this? or will this get merged into the wildfire hybrid mod soon?

ATM i have no plans to merge this with the wildfire hybrid, because the hybrid is an international version. But if there are enough german players who want such a merge, maybe. Besides, since I changed some other data as well, it will be not just a "new mercs mod" like some people would expect from the hybrid.

BTW: The mod has some bugs, which are mostly fixed in my new version. Kill Mike with a new M.E.R.C.-character and you'll see one. There will be an update in a few days. This update will contain a xml for merc starting equipment.

I need some help here, at one time there was a listing of ogg, wav files and the like that could be used to spice up the weapons in the game. They were pretty darn realistic to tell you the truth, they were sort of like the ones you found in the "Wildfire" mod but they were somewhere around in one of these forums. I have made a search or 2 but have come up empty handed. Does anyone know where I can download these sound effects from??

Well... have it up and running. Good stuff indeed.

There is one bug (?) I've noticed in the interaction with militia - the 'command all' does not work when I use a helmet with integrated headset... To make that work, I need to wear an extra headset, even though it should be working without one.

On the wishlist would be the possibility of adding piccatinny-railing to more guns, like the Galil, G3 and FAL-rifles.

Also, mounting a wider range of accessories on assault-rifles, MG's or even larger SMG's or shotguns should be possible. If you have railing on a weapon, anything that mounts on railing should fit, even if the point of mounting a sniper-scope on a shotgun eludes me. If it can be done, it should be possible, right? It would allow for some unorthodox solutions typical for special forces. For example, a French unit - I think it was GIGN - had a display of specialized weapons, and among the more innovative things was a 357" revolver, fitted with a nightscope, a bipod and a flash-hider - essentially a compact, close-range sniper-system.

Another thing that would be cool would be to make it possible to wear the ghillie-suit by itself, instead of armor.

Not that I have had time to test everything...

Wow, havent posted here in a very long time. Glad to see you guys still working your sacks off to keep this game alive. Unfortunately, I have one slight critisim.. The mods are all over the place and arent very easy to find. I've been trying to get the Urban Chaos 1.13 hybrid from file planet (followed link in forums) and I just get a 404 file not found, and the other link that was on this site sent me to a very dodgy site full of spyware and after downloading a "file" that was just called "JA2" relised it was nothing but a virus. I believe you guys need a central area (maybe away from the forums) where you just have the name of the mod and hyper link the name to its respective wiki from there you can download the latest version of that mod. Update the wiki with up to date mirrors and please check links every other week. I'm sorry if there is an area, but im not aware of it (haven't had a completly dedicated look so if someone could point me to such an area you may offically e-slap me with a trout). Also im very sorry if this comes across as demanding or degrading or disrespectful, I love this website and fourms and have been following for many years and the last thing i'd want to is upset any fan of the JA series, that goes twice for its modders. Hope things continue to go well for you guys, happy head popping Smile

How did the Hybrid get on Fileplanet? I have never released the UC-1.13 Hybrid on FilePlanet. Currently its replacement, Combined Folding Stock System Mod (v20100719) can be found at:

Ah right, sorry I didnt think the CFSS mod was the latest version of the hybrid. Also the one I clicked on (the last one that said UC 1.13 hybrid) redirected me to fileplanet, so I assume they uploaded it there. Thank you for your help anyway and good luck with your future modding.
