So I was reading this guide for Scifi mode, and it says HE is best against the Crepitus, but I don't see anything about the best ways to kill them in 1.13. Now we have a long list of ammo to choose from, not just the stock ammo, not to mention a much larger list of weapons. So, what are the best ways to kill them? I'm talking everything. Machine guns, auto-rifles, grenade launchers, sniper rifles, SMGs, Pistols, etc, everything, and all the different ammo options for them.
Edit:
Also, what about thermoberic and mustard/tear gas? Do flashbangs have any effect?

A (very!) simplified look at bug armor versus ammo types. There is a lot more that goes into these calculations than I am showing but these are the main parts. Hopefully I got the numbers and formulas right (I quickly copied them all into a spreadsheet).
There are 4 kinds of "bug armor".

So bug armor provides almost total coverage, doesn't degrade, is all the same type, and provides varying amounts of protection. How does that interact with the weapon damage system?
protection = protection * armourImpactReductionMultiplier / armourImpactReductionDivisor
damage = (impact - protection) * afterArmourDamageMultiplier / afterArmourDamageDivisor
"impact" is the amount of damage done. "protection" is how well the armor protects. "impact" has to be larger than "protection" to do much damage if the armor is hit.
Ammo type: armourImpactReductionMultiplier / armourImpactReductionDivisor, afterArmourDamageMultiplier / afterArmourDamageDivisor
HP: 3 / 2, 17 / 10
AP: 3 / 4, 1 / 1
Glaser: 3 / 1, 26 / 10
Armor protection is increased 50% for HP but any damage done after the armor is increased by 70%.
Armor protection is reduced by 25% for AP and it has no effect on damage.
Armor protection is increased 200% for HP but any damage done after the armor is increased by 260%. Glaser totally suck at penetrating anything but when it does...BAM!
The bugs have 3, 5, 6, and 20 for protection. For comparison a flak jacket is 10, kevlar vest is 15, guardian vest is 22. So bug armor just plain out sucks except for the queen and HP might indeed do a lot of damage.
Many 9mm guns have a base impact around 25.
9mm HP against bug armor would go something like this:
Infant: (25 - 3 * (3/2)) * (17/10) == 35
Kiddie: (25 - 5 * (3/2)) * (17/10) == 30
Adult: (25 - 6 * (3/2)) * (17/10) == 27
Queen: (25 - 20 * (3/2)) * (17/10) == 0
9mm AP against bug armor would go something like this:
Infant: (25 - 3 * (3/4)) == 22
Kiddie: (25 - 5 * (3/4)) == 21
Adult: (25 - 6 * (3/4)) == 20
Queen: (25 - 20 * (3/4)) == 10
9mm Glaser against bug armor would go something like this:
Infant: (25 - 3 * (3/1)) * (26/10) == 41
Kiddie: (25 - 5 * (3/1)) * (26/10) == 26
Adult: (25 - 6 * (3/1)) * (26/10) == 18
Queen: (25 - 20 * (3/1)) * (26/10) == 0
So it does indeed appear that HP works well against all bugs except the queen. Glaser is good against the two smaller kinds. AP armor works equally against most bugs and can at least hurt the queen.

Holy crap they die easy! Any full auto AS Rifle with HE rounds can take them down in one turn. I thought this was going to be horribly hard from the feeling of dread I was getting, based on other stuff I was reading about how hard they were. Damn.... I got all these teams of mercs ready for nothing. MG team, Rifle support team, 6 auto snipers, and 5 grenadiers + 1 RPG merc (Iggy). Turns out I only need a single team. lol
