Looks like there will be a v3.09 patch...

Added HPA suppressors to the attachment lists for G3's.

Added 7.62x39mm drum to SA vz.58.

Yesterday, I found that the AT Rifle grenade didn't quite fit the medium pocket, so I truncated the interface graphic. Also more or less replaced the AP grenade with one that more closely resembles the AT grenade.

Oh, I see what is going on, I just updated the graphics based on the graphics for RPC. There is also a B97 face that needs to be replaced for Goose.

EDIT: on second though, it looks like I also forgot to import the coordinates (or they were imported, but I accidentally overwrote them).

EDIT2: Goose's face is fixed, requires a new game to take effect though. I'm not seeing anything wrong with Biggins, but then again I've been starting a new game every time to test the new M.E.R.C. face coordinates.

EDIT3: not sure why Goose had a missing file and coordinates, I did get him working early last week. Then again, I also though he was added a patch earlier and neglected to test on Saturday/Sunday.

How does the cleaning kit work? Just attach it to the gun? Then what is supposed to happen? Repair it a little?

So if a pistol doesn't have the 4 squares, you can't attach the cleaning kit?

FN FAL and HPA Suppressors - found this was needed yesterday while fixing up the FAL RIS attachments. Also the hand-guard has been corrected to a quad rail, and a RIS Optics mount has been added. These are already in the patch being tested, and as long as nobody raises any new bugs that need fixing should be out by tomorrow (200/04/02).

Cleaning Kit - On guns it works with, it attaches to the internal slots (four slots in the lower right) for storage, it mergers with other slots to average out the status between the gun and itself (this is what I mean by "cleaning"). It does not work with all weapons, though the list has grown considerably since it was thought of as a way to partially mitigate the low reliability of AR-15 family weapons.

I'm not sure what you mean, what odd behaviour is there with the 5.56mm Beta-C's?

EDIT: 7.62x51mm Drum is too much of a pain to add to this version, perhaps v3.1/5 (probably won't be a v3.1 as "JA2 v1.13 2011" is just around the corner).

No, that is not supposed to happen. Can the Beta-C reattach? If not, I am suspecting that there is a missing attachment definition for the "real" Enfields (like the toolbox, the cleaning kit merger is also used to convert the map compatibility copy into the "real" version of the weapon).

The attachments are defined in the XML's correctly, however I think I misunderstood your description there, its not the attachment that detaches, but instead the magazine unloads. This one unfourtunatly sounds like something cause by the .exe, and specifically with a counter exploit feature of the merger system. The Cleaning Kits are based on an EASY merger that converts the weapon into the same weapon item index, and the Cleaning Kit into another item of the Cleaning Kit index (averaging the stats between the two in the process). I guess the code that governs whether the current magazine item is valid or not does not take into account attached attachments.

The magazine being ejected when the weapon's capacity changes, I think is something I asked for to prevent an exploit in a different UC-1.13 feature (FN Minimi dual feed). Then again this is not a case where a specific occurrence of a weapon has its capacity changing.

EDIT: thought I'd make it a bit clearer.

EDIT2: yes I did have the idea to add a drum adapter as well (IoV has the graphics I think), and it is still under consideration for a future version. Let me tactfully remind you of all the magazine issues that coincided with the last addition of new magazines.

could you please add to your versions history which files you actually changed since no8 update?

btw i consider it disturbing to be supossed to shoot people (cops, crepaton officials and others) before i'm even been properly introduced to them (the only one who said her name before she died was claudia) - maybe there should be some scripts changed so we can see their faces and hear their voices again, before we shoot them

- .INI is unchanged from v3.08
- Bobby Ray's Merchants changed to now sell DSA-58 (civilian 7.62x51mm rifle), and new FN Optics RIS
- Tony changed to sell new FN Optics RIS

The NPC's not talking are a side effect of using them as triggers/associating them with a Crepaton Faction. Not sure how to emulate the Warden's (Claudia) scripting, but I do prefer the consistency with how they go hostile along with their bodyguards/staff.

EDIT:
Being a bit lazy here - is there any demand to see a save-game breaking add-on that just has the Calisto changes? I've managed to build a not-bad looking bar for one of the NPC's (who is specifically referenced as being in E13), in the map that used to be C14 (Orta tileset). This is instead of a full release v3.1/5, where I have to redo all the items to account for fixing the Leather Jacket/Nails bug.

DSA-58 - forgot to clear the autofire from folded stock and Rifle Grenade firing copies.


Three ways to fix F10:
1) disable offroading Hummvee
2) Define F10 to F9 as PLAINS (F9 to F10 already is)
3) Define F10 <> G10 as ROADS

I've already setup 2) and 3) for the v3.1/5 XML's.

Another bug that was found too late to be fixed, the XMLEditor compatible AttachmentSlots.xml isn't XMLEditor compatible (it seems to be an exact copy of the one in the do not edit folder).


Fine I'll add 1.5x scopes to some of the shotguns. No RIS adapters for shotguns until next major version.


v3.09a (quick and dirty patch that will have minimum changes from the last one).

How many days did you wait? Also, what happens when you just talk to him, without giving him the heads? I am somewhat concerned that the Carmen quest isn't being initialized correctly (as he is "forced" to appear in A9 before starting his random appearances).

He payed the last time I ran through the Quest in UC-1.13 (a while ago). No, what I'm worried about is some recent v1.13 code changes messing up whatever exploit original UC used to make him always appear in A9 on landing, and then continue with his normal quest behaviour.

Hi all^^

I downloaded and installed the UC 1.13 Mod.Just after doing my IMP stuff and hirering some Mercs i wanted to enter first map,but the game crashes,several times.tried it.

I received a message on loadingscreen:

what does that mean?

Raoule, to begin please confirm that you see the following two PDF files in the root directory of your Jagged Alliance 2 install:

"UC-1.13v3.0 20110127 FAQ.pdf" - this one is indicative of whether or not you installed Tais' SCI correctly

"UC-1.13v3.09a 20110402 FAQ.pdf" - this one is indicative of whether or not you installed the latest patch in the correct location (both PDF's should appear in the root directory of your Jagged Alliance 2 install).

2) Have you changed the .ini in any way?

3) What settings in the start game options are you starting with?

4) When you launch Jagged Alliance 2, in the upper left corner, does the version of the game include 4057?



EDIT: started work on the next major revision (it will be save game breaking, but will take several weeks to reach initial release).

Thanks for your continuing work Wil. What are your plans regarding the 2011 release and NCTH compatability? A V4.0 release some time after the main release?


A small XML thing in 3.09A:

The Steyr Aug replacement carbine and rifle barrels have the same Bobby Rays description both describing them as 16" when the rifle is a 20".

Whilst you are fixing this have you considered adding the 307mm barrel (called an SMG barrel but avaliable in 5.56mm) and bumping up the coolness of the other weapons. This would make the early game weapons more similar to the short barreled AR type rifles.

I'll fix the descriptions for the next major release (as I'm hoping not to have to do a v3.09b patch).

v3.1/3.5 - Save Game breaking due to new item ordering, and map changes.
- v3.1: rev4057 .exe, but may not happen as the 2011 release is scheduled for end of this month. I am still considering releasing the map changes as an add-on to v3.09a
- v3.5: 2011 Releae Old-CtH
- v4.0: 2011 Release New-CtH. Mostly using whatever basic stats they come up with, except the folding stock system will account for 1/3rd of the counterforce, ie. AKS-74 with its folded stock will be 1/3rd less controllable

I'm reorganizing the guns right now, consolidating everything into one big block. Mostly in alphabetical order, except where it makes sense to group weapon families. Only at the letter F right now, so yeah a SBR AUG can be easily worked into the scheme. I think the L22A2 is the only 5.56mm Bullpup SBR right now.

The only other new additions as far as gear in v3.1/3.5 is .357 Sig ammo. Using it to diversify the pistols by converting two of the Sigs, also adding copies of existing FN FNP and Gocks (perhaps even the Springfield XD). To reflect its law enforcement nature, .357 Sig will be available in: Ball, HP, Match, and Cold Ball (hopefully I can get the numbers right so this last one turns your almost magnum-like pistol into another 9x19mm).

The Kobra is already in-game (from v1.13), and the Advance Reflex Sight (UC-1.13 only) can make use of the RSA/SVD to RIS adapter; so what is the need (the hook) for another reflex sight?

EDIT:
- added the AUG-A1 Sub-Carbine (fills the slot for a reliable bullpup SBR in western ammo).
- researching that strange AK SBR (smaller than the AKS-74U) that v1.13 already has graphics for, but is not in UC-1.13 yet.

Yes, I am aware of the Russian (and others) lasers from IoV, but I don't see the need for another low end LAM. The universal laser sight works well enough.

As far as high-end LAM's, russian pistols can use the LAM-200 directly, and the two RIS LAM's fit rifles via the RIS adapters that are unique to this mod. Quite frankly, I don't want to implement too many functionally equivalent attachments.

Note, I'm adding a new caliber to reduce the number of identical 9x19mm pistols. The AUG SBR was added because it had a "hook" (a reliable bullpup SBR).

EDIT: AKMSU does not exist per sec as an official AK production model, but everyone else seems to be manufacturing SBR AKMS' with AKS-74U parts. I'm going to include it as the "Krinkov"/AKMSU in v3.1/5, basically so there is a 7.62x39mm SBR.

one small thing,maybe it is stupid idea: vintage weapon from ww2 can nicely spiced your mod,im not speaking here about rusians weapons, i think find mp 40 or fg-42[or something from this time scale] can be nice,hard to find & have rare ammo to find...
