This is the first beta version of the Logical Bodytypes implementation (LOBOT).

I'm very grateful for anyone downloading it and trying it out.

It is not really a development build anymore I don't think, so I consider it a beta version. But please be aware, that I did not do extensive tests (only one sector, though with a multitude of different configurations). If you encounter a CTD but want to play on, you can deactivate the use of Logical Bodytypes temporarily (there is an option).

Things to look for:
- CTDs (if reproducible by triggerin a certain animation for characters that are using logical bodytypes)
- Characters disappearing
- Errors with message about surfaces that could not be loaded.
- Shadows too dark/excessive blackness around character (indicates a problem with one of the blitters)
- Strange image artifacts (also indicating problems with one of the blitters)

It would be great if you could produce as many animations as possible in as many situations as possible (to test as many of the myriad of blitters that have been changed).

I branched off of the MP main trunk at revision 4313 (that is currently about 2 weeks ago). It is save-game compatible to that revision.

You will need a working MP version (as close to the revision I branched off of as possible). See here for how to set up JA2 MP: HOW TO INSTALL JA2 MP.

LOBOT 0.1 BETA (4364)

You can simply extract the archive over a valid MP isntallation. I added an ini option for deactivating LOBOT but did not include the ini file, as not to overwrite existing local changes:
TOPTION_USE_LOGICAL_BODYTYPES			  = FALSE


You will also need a logical bodytype unless you want to define your own. Will add a link to the JADES project thread as soon as I have put it up. In the mean time you can take one of these:

Logical Bodytype - BGM replacement from Renegade Republic

That is a replacement for the BigMale (BGM) stock body type from Renegade Republic. I configured it, so that it is being used for Grizzly and Bull. Be aware, that for ease of installation I added the LOBOT XML files already containing a working setup for the body type. That means, if you extract it as-is, any configurations for other logical bodytypes would be over-written. Note also that this body-type is not complete, there is a good number of animations, but there are quite a few missing (the character will disappear completely as long as the animation is being played). The JADES bodytypes should be complete though.

Decided to add download for the JADES bodytype pack here:

Logical Bodytype - RGM JADES Enhanced Stock Animations

That is a replacement for the RegularMale (RGM) stock body type. I configured it, so that it is being used for the following Mercs:

Short:
*Dr. Q

Below average height:
*Malice
*Grunty
*Blood

Average height:
*Ivan

Above average height:
*Static
*Igor

Tall:
*Len
*Trevor

Be aware, that for ease of installation I added the LOBOT XML files already containing a working setup for the body type. That means, if you extract it as-is, any configurations for other logical bodytypes would be over-written.

Just a thought.. The problem is that you branching off a beta build.. that means you are limited to those peoples on closed beta only.

All other are on 4057

don't you think that all of those 'usual suspects' to test stuff are in the beta? - those on 4057 are either

i wan't all, i want it now and i want it secure - type of 'custommers'

or

testing somethiing completely different and thus can't afford beta-bugs (like me)


neither of them will happily join another test - the moment bio's stuff is declared to be on working condition i will happily steel/borrow it - before that i won't even test it - that does of course not prohibit any bad advice from my side :devilaugh:

Just a thought Very Happy in case of he got problem with peoples downloading his mod to test, then say.. my game broken after installing your mod,u sux.. ONLY, after persistent questioning revealed that i only use 4057, the latest one, because I cant find anything newer D:

I would love to use the latest exe too, but I'm a lousy bughunter (I dont do random unthinkable illogical stuff - so some big nasty bug that would only trigger if biff jump on fox's bed will never be found), so I refrain from pming tais for it Razz
