Hello guys!
I kept following the discussions in this forum for quite a while and would like to make my first post in this forum. So I would like to give some suggestions of what logical weapons/items should be included. The plot of Urban Chaos is taking place in a former Warsaw Pact country of Danubia. This means that the majority of weapons and other items should be oriented towards Soviet/Russian/Other Warsaw Pact members. I am a fan of DBB/IoV mod as well and, if I understood correctly, the authors of that mod have allowed to use their creations for other mods.
As everybody has noticed, you have already transferred lots of Soviet/Russian based items from DBB/IoV mod. So why not borrow these items from DBB/IoV latest version with new attachment system (v.920):
1) Several more famous WW2 Soviet/German weapons (photos and descriptions can be found on http://world.guns.ru), because you have already included some of them (like PPSH-41, Mosin Nagant 1891 model etc.): Soviet AVS-36, SVT-38 or SVT-40, Degtyarev DP DPM RP-46, German MG-42 (you could include the upgrade kit from MG-42 into MG3 as well) etc.;
2) Several more modern Russian weapons: AK-74M, RPK-74M, AEK-999, OTs-11, AKS-74U-UBN with the BS-1 "Tishina" 30mm suppressed grenade launcher (take a look at FIDEL's starting gear from DBB/IoV mod), Dragunov SVDK, RPG-16 "Grom";
3) A few more Polish / Czech / Finnish AK clones: Finnish Valmet Rk. 62 / 76 / 95, Czech LADA CZ-2000, Polish Kbs wz.1996 Beryl, Mini Beryl etc.
4) Please include more Soviet / Russian uniforms and armor (you have already borrowed a lot of such stuff from that mod), for example, MASKA Spetsnaz helmet (take a look at IVAN's starting gear from DBB/Iov mod), Spetsnaz armor and trouses, Sniper camouflage suite, DRAGON Skin armor etc.
5) Please include more scopes and lasers from DBB / Iov mod, for example, NSPU-1 and NSPU-3, RPG scope (should be possible to attach it to AKs as well, http://www.google.lt/search?q=rpg+scope&hl=lt&biw=1240&bih=823&prmd=imvns&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=oB13TsD2JuLe4QTRrv2mDQ&sqi=2&ved=0CCgQsAQ), PO 12x scope (for Russian 12,7 mm rifles), PKS-07 scope (a 7x scope, you can find it in AIMNAS, also all the SV-98 rifles should be equipped with this scope, not with PSO-1 by default - http://www.google.lt/search?q=rpg+scope&hl=lt&biw=1240&bih=823&prmd=imvns&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=oB13TsD2JuLe4QTRrv2mDQ&sqi=2&ved=0CCgQsAQ#hl=lt&tbm=isch&sa=1&q=PKS-07&pbx=1&oq=PKS-07&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&gs_sm=e&gs_upl=198088l200531l0l201073l6l6l0l3l3l0l271l757l2-3l3l0&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=e09c616b93e31bd3&biw=1240&bih=823),also more Western scope models from DBB/IoV (at this moment all Western rifles use only a generic 6x scope)should be included. One more thing - it should be possible to attach PSO-1 to regular AK type assault rifles, not just to SVD /9x39 mm weapons.
6) Please include the new 60 rounds 5,45 x 39 mm magazines (could be used with the help of an adapter)
This should be enough for the moment:) Hopefully these ideas will attract your attention and we will see the majority of the mentioned items in UC and DL in the near future.

A reminder that I look favourably on requests that conform to the following on page 1 of this thread:
wil473Looks like Smeagol beat me to creating one of these.
Please include at a minimum:
- link to more information
- rational why I should be adding your favourite gun to three different mods (I've included a list of weapons already in-mod to avoid embarrassing incidents of duplication)
- description to item (bonus points if it is usable in-game)
- graphics (bonus points if they are usable in-game, and you are the artist so I don't need to track anyone down for permission)
Note, that with New Magazine System (NMS) in the works, this thread will be mostly to gather information for future "Advance Capability" versions of the mods that will be created after the current "offical" cycle of v1.13 releases. Specifically NMS, so far, has a few features that not only simplifies adding unique magazine capacities and multiple magazine capacities, but on considering what ChrisL has already stated to be his plans for NMS, features that can be exploited (ie. not ChrisL's intention, but I plan on abusing it for this purpose) to make supporting a common item list between multiple mods much easier...
With regards to DBB/IoV items, you are encouraged to supply where exactly in the hundreds of graphics (ie. Gun111, P1Item111...) that make up the DBB/IoV graphics library your request is located. Yes, I am using IoV 920.
I'll go into specifics for the lists submitted by hermitageman and wolf00 later.

Rk62/76 doesn't really differ from the M76 already in the game except with having a milled receiver instead of a stamped one. Rk95 has a flash hider/muzzle brake that accepts NATO-standard rifle grenades as well as reflex sound suppressors.

Actually, I check the IoV920 XML's directly to look-up the graphic. That said, I would prefer if those making the request do this as part of the request - the more effort you put into the request for a specific item, the more likely I am to add the item.
Special Hi-Capacity Magazines:
- already in my plans for New Magazine System (NMS)
- don't like adding magazines right now as I find it a pain
- like the idea of adding magazines under the current Old Magazine System (OMS), and then having to do it again for NMS a pain (as per last known plans of ChrisL OMS being dropped in favour of magazine definitions that can server NMS and a pseudo-OMS, NMS ammunition definition becomes comparatively easier the more magazines being dealt with for a given calibre)
Valmet Rk. 62 / 76 / 95:

- Valmet M76 already covers: folding stock, rifle launched grenade, and sound suppressor capable
AVS-36
- interesting, on first glance sounds like a 7.62x54mmR equivalent of the M14
- need for new 15 round magazine puts this one into the post-NMS catagory
SVT-40
- interesting, on first glance sounds like a 7.62x54mmR equivalent of the M1 Garrand
- use of existing 10 round magazines in-game is a plus

- low end 9x39mm weapon could find a place

- The FN F2000 Weapon System is a one off, in general this mod does not have the same regard for these "fully loaded" weapons

- this was in the mod in past, removed due to the need to produce specific rounds for it

- having enough problems balancing the ones in the mod now
PKS-07
- it was in for a while, specifically for the SV-98, removed as at the time there wasn't enough to differentiate it with the PSO-P
PSO-1
- Isn't there a slight difference between the side rail on the early AK's, the SVD, and the new universal AK/SVD rail?
- some AK and related weapons have a "universal rail" that allows use of the PSO-P, I can check if these also allow the PSO-1 as well
Mauser c96
- odd magazine capacities put this one into the post-NMS catagory

It took some time until I have studied everything with the help of sti files viewer/editor and compariosn with the Bobby Ray's store in Iov (Alt-Tab combination all the time:)). So here is the "short" list of what I would recommend to include, if possible:
OTs-11 Tiss - Look for "gun 799.sti" - It's a 9x39 mm AKS-74U version.
AEK-972 - Look for "gun 749.sti" - It's a 5,56x45 mm AEK-971/973 version.
AK-74M - Look for "gun 695.sti" - It's a modernized AK-74 with plastic furniture and stock, is used by today's Russian higher end units.
AKS-74U-UBN with the BS-1 "Tishina"("Silence" in English) 30mm suppressed grenade launcher - Look for "gun 513.sti". Look also for "gun 528.sti" - it's a separate "Tishina" 30 mm grenadae launcher.
SVT-40 - Look for "gun 493.sti" - It's a 7,62x54 mm Soviet WW2 era semi-automatic rifle.
Kbk wz.96 Mini Beryl - Look for "gun 478.sti" - It's a Polish 5,56x45 mm AKS-74U clone.
Kbs wz.96 Beryl - Look for "gun 477.sti" - It's a Polish 5,56x45 mm AK-74 clone.
CZ 2000 LMG - Look for "gun 476.sti" - It's a Czech RPK clone in 5,56x45 mm (a 75 rounds drum).
CZ 2000 SAR - Look for "gun 474.sti" - It's a Czech AKS-74U clone in 5,56x45 mm.
CZ 2000 AR - Look for "gun 475.sti" - It's a Czech AK-74 clone in 5,56x45 mm.
Dragunov SVD-K - Look for "gun 465.sti" - It's a Dragunov SVD version in the new 9x64 mm caliber.
Makarov PB - Look for "gun 459.sti" - It's a 9x18 mm Makarov PM with built-in silencer - was often used by KGB and Spetsnaz.
Type 81-1 - Look for "gun 310.sti" - It's a Chinese 7,62x39 mm AKM clone.
Type 63 - Look for "gun 309.sti" - It's a Chinese 7,62x39 mm SKS clone, but it uses 20 rounds magazines (Soviet SKS uses 10 rounds magazines).
Type 79 SMG - Look for "gun 305.sti" - It's a Chinese 7,62x25 mm Tokarev SMG which uses 20 rounds magazines.
Type 64 Silenced SMG - Look for "gun 307.sti" - It's a Chinese 7,62x25 mm Tokarev SMG with built-in silencer, which uses 30 rounds magazines.
OTs-48 - Look for "gun 815.sti" - It's a modernized Russian 7,62x54 mm Mosin-Nagant, uses 5 rounds clips, used by Spetsnaz.
OTs-48K - Look for "gun 816.sti" - It's a bullpup version of OTs-48.
AK-200 - Look for "gun 817.sti" - It's the newest AK version which uses 60 rounds magazines.
AVS-36 - Look for "gun 885.sti" - It's Soviet WW2 era 7,62x54 mm semi automatic rifle, which uses 15 rounds magazines.
6P62 HAR Barsuk - Look for "gun 812.sti" - It's a Russian 12,7x108 mm support rifle,uses 14 rounds clips.
AEK-999 Barsuk - Look for "gun 801.sti" - It's an upgraded PKM, a competitor to PECHENEG, uses 100 rounds 7,62x54 mm belts.
Saiga-410K - Look for "gun 509.sti" - It's a 410 Gauge (76 mm Magnum) Russian shotgun which uses 10 rounds clips.

I propose adding the Mossberg brand shotguns. They are ideal in close quarters combat and are used by both military and police forces.

Now some more items from DBB/IoV mod, which could be included and would suit UC scenario:
1) 30 mm grenades BS-1 "Tishina" - Look for "p1item746.sti".
2) Soviet antitank grenades RKG-3/RKG-3M - Look for "p1item752.sti". A very powerful grenade.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RKG-3_anti-tank_grenade)
3) PKS-07 scope - Look for "p1item767.sti". You should use it with SV-98 by default.
4) PO 12x scope for Russian 12,7x108 mm sniper rifles - Look for "p1item769.sti". You could use it by default with KSVK, OTS-96 etc.
5) A stock for APS - Look for "p1item783.sti". I do not know if it is already included or not, should give a longer useful range for APS and more accuracy.
6) Russian simple LAM - Look for "p1item809.sti". Could be used as a cheap laser for Russian pistols, a little bit weaker than the normal LAM.
7) Russian Spetsnaz "VITYAZ-S" helmet - Look for "p2item154.sti". Could be used by Elites.
Russian AK bayonet - Look for "p2item366.sti". Another good knife, which can also cut wire fence.
9) Russian Spetsnaz Uniform - Look for "p2item155.sti". Could be used by Elites.
10) Russian Spetsnaz trousers - Look for "p2item156.sti". Could be used by Elites.
11) DRAGONSKIN armor - "Look for "p2item175.sti". Could be used in the end of the game.
12) Soviet/Russian Sniper suit - "Look for "p2item217.sti". Could be used by Elites' snipers.
13) OMON Wood Shirt - Look for "p2item406.sti". Could be used in the beginning of the game by the redshirts.Also if you could modify it to allow the attachment of vests (like in Demise of Man mod), it could provide wood camouflage bonus.

Actually, don't bother with the following as they will not be added:
H&K SL9 - there's a perfectly good image from stock v1.13, also it is a rare prototype so I'm not in a mood to invest effort into a simple graphic upgrade (if that is even the case).
M9 with KAC Silencer - Again, no "All-Up" guns, not enough difference between this and a Beretta 92FS with a sound suppressor attached.
S&W Hush Puppy - same reasons as the M9/Suppressor combo above but with different guns
MP5Navy SD - why? Any discernible difference between this and the MP5SD already in game?
EDIT: when I have time later, I'll clarify which of the many items requested over the last 48hours have a chance of appearing soon (next series of releases after the patching of v1.13), down the road (after New Magazine System or other anticipated new code features), and never. Asking twice isn't going to help a particular case.
Also, some general issues:
- I'm on record pondering the removal of the 9-10x scopes in the mods for balance reasons, anything more than 12x is just going to be a no
- There is no specific way of setting random gear selection for use by red shirts, admins or elites. Map Editing is being minimized when possible (ie. no map editing was needed for DL-1.13, and if I can get some time to work on it, none for UC-1.13 v3.60 Old Map campaign)
- Vests may appear as LBE
- Pants are a no as I want to avoid the exploit of both leg LBE slots being filled with pants
- Armoured LBE is not possible at this time, yes I know code branches based on v1.13 have it (IoV/DBB), please start a proper v1.13 feature request if you really want this capability - I consider it nice to have, but not enough to put any more effort into it (I've already asked in the context of better way of handling UC's Commando Armour/LBE system).
