Playing JA2 gold and am looking to tweak the game play just a wee bit. Is there a mod that makes the enemies drop their equipment when they die or a file I can edit?

There is a drop all option in 1.13, check the front page for a link.

This option also appears in numerous other mods but not gold.

You could just try one of the SCI's or the official installer to install the newest version of 1.13 which has a massive amount of features and especially the drop all feature Very Happy

The old russian 800x600 by Ben Kovrik also has drop all... but after two or three cities you are so awash with kit you end up turning it off. Drop all is a cheat for newbies and retards who haven't got the balls to play properly. I'd like to see it disabled and locked out forever.

& before you all jump up and down in horror remember this particular twerp made a whole UB mod as a drop all style game... a decision I now deeply regret.

Couldn't agree more with the criticism of drop all. I Liked it originally when I first began using it, and in theory it seems more true to life to able to ransack your defeated enemies. But as time passes it's clear it unbalances the game, not to mention turning JA into more of a trading game than a combat based one.

One of the most exciting things to do in maps so that you ensure getting a lot more of the enemy's better weapons is to "steal" them.

It pretty much goes like this'

1 get close enough to your prey that you can get off at least 2-3 good punches.
2 I don't usually go for the head when I am going to steal since those swings get ducked a lot
3 make sure that you have a buddy nearby to either start pounding the enemy or to shoot him if/when you are out of AP and there is an M-14 being waved in your face as you cringe and hit the Turn Done button
4 Hold your breath that the enemy isn't holding a LAW that he then blasts you into tiny bits of cherry pie all over the field.
Once the enemy has been pummeled to "Critical", You must have at least 10 AP to them hold down CTRL and Yank whatever weapon he has in his main hand away from him.

Succeed or fail, this is one main way to infuse adrenaline in every turn. It really makes for a great feeling or a nasty attitude when you are reloading because the enemy had a Dragonuv and now you have it or a new butthole where your spleen used to be...
