Special thanks to Hawkeye.

Translation status: finished

How to install:
1) Download official Russian version of SJ mod and install it
2) Download English Pack v0.99 (This is not full game, only translated text!!!) UPDATED March 03, 2016
3) Overwrite all installed Russian files with English
4) Play!

Absolutely superb Inshy , now mebbe more people will give this mod a try .

Thanks for your work here and other translation of Russian/Polish mods .

For full translation , Inshy means that all emails and non hard coded words have been done .

Maybe I'm just spoiled by 1.13, but it seems that sprites in the interface (weapons and portaits)are a bit blured, as if they are slighly out of focus.
On more important note, and keep in mind that I've just started the game, I have noticed that many enemies are static. Usualy only small portion of enemy forces come to investigate when the shooting starts.

Hey Inshy, the link for the English pack comes up with an object not found error. Any chance or uploading again?

Might be an idea to include me an idiots guide to installation for Unfinished Business, as it's been a long time since for a lot of us using this version of the game.

There does still seem to be some Russian text lingering around, notably on the IMP website. I picked some skills at random as I don't have a clue what the Russian means. The old funky resolution takes a bit of getting used to, but the intro movies done well.

After some discussion elsewhere, I got a handy download for running the game in higher resolutions here...

But it don't work with own exes. Shady? I think it would be
integrated in 1.13-UB if yes.

Seems to work okay, in most resolutions though 1024 x 600 just hung up on my Windows 7 system. There is some discrepancies in some screens, and that awful jitteriness when scrolling in the tactical screen does show, but nothing to prevent you playing the game. I did also notice when installing this package over Shady that a lot of the remaining Russian text has gone! So all characteristics, attributes and ingame warnings are now in English.

This download also features an updated User Interface, some website updates among other things. All seems to be playing okay so far. Only thing I have noticed is some ammunition is buggy (ejecting Shotgun shells seems to make them unusable) but I don't know if this was a bug before or since this new pack was added.

Anyway, well worth a look if the lower res and remaining Russian text was putting you off.

Oh one other thing, that I was not aware of before, there is still some AAAAAA text showing up, mainly for some of the sector names. I'm presuming this again is some Russian text or characters not converting or writing correctly, but does not seem to hinder the gameplay at the moment.

Tried this reso mod , works imperfectly , but not affecting gameplay , I tried on 1024x768 and looks fine , obviously needs work to make it better , but ok . I also get the AAAAAAAA text , on all but my own merc name , most other writing seems fine .

Doh my screenies came out garbled, maybe something to do with the new 800 x 600 res that I'm using. However the current AAAA's were in the map title box, the box below the mini map which names the sector you are in. Also some of Sergei has this in his speech subtitles, but again I don't know if this happened before the new res-mod was added.

I've just gone back and loaded the clean install of Shady, it seems all the map sectors are still in Russian (see below) so probably why they are appearing AAA in the new res mode as they can't write the Russian characters. As a side note I think the res mod, messes up some of the game, such as the ammo issues. So one step forward, two step back. Even without this new add-on the sector names would be non-English as pictured below.

Also ejecting some ammo from other guns can't be reloaded. I presume it's a conflict with the new add-on, perhaps I need to reset the ammo data back to it's original state if it works.

This new res mod has cleared up a lot of the Russian that was making it hard to play at the start, but so far it's screwing with my ammo, not writing the sector names correctly, and even some of the town headings are now missing on the big map.

Might not want to confuse Inshy if he can help, we have two issues here with the Russian,

1. The issues we have after using this new res mod from Starchris - Strange thing is I get almost all English text, just none for the sector names, Lockies is different.
2. The original install and the older Russian text issues it has such as Personnel screens still full of Russian text (as below).

Bugger I can't seem to find any specific gun or ammo data in these directories either, maybe it's all in the exes? All I can see is interface files, laptop files (both mostly art) and some DAT files.

Yeah some of the higher res exes are a bit crazy some of the screens are off centre, such as the title and loading screens but I can live with that (this is just because no one has specifically produced higher res art to be used for these resolutions so it's just using the old screens and having them only fill the top left corner.) I'm using the 800 x 600 exe. Seems a bit more normal visually.

Maybe Inshy will still be able to help with the previous personnel screens back on the original install, or see if we can simply grab the english stuff that is being used from the new res version, but then your's appears all different once again. :crazy:
