I've installed 1.13 and wanted to try INSANE + Iron Man, because I like a good challenge. But having 6 IMPs feels like cheating. Do I need them to beat INSANE? Did anyone else beat it with one IMP?
And what's your strategy? It's probably a good idea to attack Cambria first?

My current high end team on insane are 6 IMPs with Russian names, and all the Russian and East German mercs I can get out of the game. Drop all, BR awesome, lotsa extra starting cash, playing fast and loose but against tons and tons of enemies. lotsa fun. I'm generally only spending my starting cash on equipment for the IMPs, with the rest of the team getting outfitted more conservatively.
My "B-Team" consists of various mercenaries I've always meant to get more play out of, and at a much more frugal level. I'm using it to test my drop rate edits. regular drops only, of course. BR normal, experienced or expert difficulty, I forget which. later in the game once I get some real cash I'll add in all of the "career army" type mercs like Len, Stogie, etc.
Both campaigns make use of the locals. Why turn down volunteers that work for free/cheap? Mules, repair spam, or militia trainers if nothing else.
