Heh. Pretty much what it says in the subject - I've perused the forums and haven't found a specific post for this.
I always use the first male portrait for my IMP (the darker-skinned gentleman), ever since the first time I played the game, but I'd like to put him in something a bit more fashionable than the all-blue ensemble he's got going on right now.
Do I do this in ProEdit, or by editing an XML file?
I'm a bit new at getting my hands dirty with the editing, so you might need to explain it like you would to a kindergardner lol
Thanks!

simply put: you can't, which is a shame.
what you can try is to find the description of the .dat file that governs your IMP. Then, one specific byte will most probably represent the pants color, one the vest color and so on
however, i have no idea which byte it is, but maybe you come across this description of the .dat files somewhere and spot it.

Or change it in a hexeditor but this has to be done every time you start a new game. Does not take too long to do though and since one game in JA2 generally is pretty long it is worth it.

I used to change IMP "colour scheme" with PROEDIT but I'm not sure that this still works?!
I changed it by changing colours of hair, vest, pants and skin in system information. It was PGmale# according to the voice set used for your character. Voice1 -> PGmale1 Voice2 -> PGmale2 and so on; the same with female imps.
IMP Editor I used was made by John Smith aka Roadkill, I hope

Sorry, I just have the post list on it's default setting, and am fairly new at v1.13, having only downloaded it a couple of weeks ago, prior to that, didn't even know it was out there.
