Use a higher resolution to get the full overhead map at once again.
Edit: Still looking for a satisfactory solution for the radarmaps, maybe next release Smile

I reinstalled per your intructions and set the resolution up from 1024x768 to 1440x900
which is the maximum my monitor supports and the sector map is still messed up.
Please advice as to the solution.

Thanks,

Jenkarno

Ah, that's normal then. As Flug already hinted at, big maps are too ... big to display the complete overhead map in anything below 1680x1050, so you'll have to keep scrolling.

Okay, maybe the wife will let me use the laptop to play as it has a 1600x900 native screen resolution till I buy a new monitor for my desktop.

Thanks,

A probable bug:

I arrested a dude in Drassen, after battle sent them to Jail, which was in E7. I have not been in that sector so pretty funny, how can I sent someone to jail which I do not control. Additionally, after the battle, the game still shows there is an enemy in the sector and I cannot move my merc in strategic screen because of that. If I try to cheat with ALT+GABBI and try to kill the enemy, nothing. So the it seems that the captured enemy "hangs" in the sector somehow.

Savegame here which explains ten times more:
https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=A993EBA13D00CB34!182

Using the SCI Xmas release.

edit: Ares Shrike seems to capped to the 30rnd mags, and I cannot find anywhere in BR the possible Shrike upper receiver, got all other items in BR available.

The first one is an most likely an xml error. E7 contains a facility 20. In stock 1.13, that is a town prison, in AIMNAS, its a farm. There is propably some mixup going on, with wrong VFS paths or something like that.

Update: As of r5751, prisoners no longer get sent to sectors that the player has never liberated. This will take care of instances where your prisoners are sent out of your reach...

WARNING. Savegame compatibility was broken in r5744. If your exe is below that, savegames wont work with an exe above it.

Update2: I'm a bit lost here... while I can load the savegame with the AIMNAS exe, I cannot load the game with any debug exes for 5743, 5744 or 5751. No idea... I just get a black screen that says 'error'.

Smeagol, I assumed that this exe is 5744... is it?

Very strange things happen in your savegame. I cannot load it correctly with any exe I build, even if I use the same version as in the AIMNAS release... basically, the game crashes because a corpse with an unknown animation should be placed, but no files exist for that, so the game decides to hang. Did you kill anyone in a very odd way, apart from GABBI?

No I just soloed the whole sector with one merc, WD99. I arrested one guy and rest killed just by shooting. There was maybe around 10-15 enemies in the sector, maybe one dropped from a rooftop.

And I tried the GABBI ctrl + o cheat only after when the game showed one guy alive after battle and I couldn't move my merc in strat screen.

I am not exactly sure why that error occurs (as I cannot debug there), but I hope I have fixed it in 5752... You could try loading with that exe, spawning an extra enemy with cheats, and then killing him... if everything goes as planned, this should clean up the sector. I might try that later this evening.

Found out why I couldn't start, was a differing compile configuration.

Anyway, I removed the problem in your savegame - there was an enemy group of size 1 in the sector that somehow did not enter combat. It's removed in this save: http://sdrv.ms/WimUOd

Been looking at the XMLs a lot lately.

The Walther MPK (folded) mass is wrong, at 0 grams.

The Armalite AR-7 is set to sink in water, the real rifle actually floats. Wait, never mind, I forgot that it has a scope by default in the game, that would probably counter the rifle's own buoyancy.

It is first time me playing aimnas, I really like it.

just started the game - 2 bugs found:
1) when giving letter to Fatima - you are teleported directly to rebel hideout however one of my 5 merc team (Trevor) stuck/trapped outside rebel hideout with no chance to enter hideout or leave sector. tried few times - same thing. I decided leave Trevor outside.

2) captured b13 drassen airport - cannot train militia, loyalty 32% (yes, I read FAQ, building ACA needed which is present in the sector). Do I need to clean out whole Drassen before training militia?
3) 10mm SMG EVO called "Nothing" (found it in Bobby Ray),+ some other wrong info in BR - can provide if needed

some binoculars are in "gun" class.

in addition to that - Hans says that Tony is not here, but he actually in the shop. Good thing in big maps is that you do not need to blow wall or Brenda's head in order to visit Tony.

I spent few days on figuring how to launch XML editor. Aimnas FAQ did not help either. I was lucky to have ja 2 1.13 installed separately, so I looked at XMLEditorInit.xml file, and found solution:
you have to change data directory to:
Data-AIM
in FAQ it saying " change Data-1.13 to Data-AIM" which did not work for me.

upd.
cannot use helicopter =( it says "null is full"
bug with molle lbe which makes almost impossible to attach additional big size pockets to vests in map view (possible only in tactical mode)

upd 2
I was shocked to see rebels attacking.. vehicle in omerta, with bare hands.

Hello everybody, I need some help...

I have my pretty 1.13.5762, game dir 1582 + aimnas xmas sci lite.

I downloaded, installed and immediately went to mess with the ini files to setup some of my crazy preferences, like first mercs landing on A8 rather than A9 (I seriously dont understand why would you land a small ops team in the middle of an occupied town)... Anyways, I started the game and was amazed by the awesomenes of the huuuuge map, next thing was move carefully towards the ruined farm. On the way, my 3-man team is spotted by a "man in black pajamas" who runs at us but gets interrupted. I had spooky move to cover and aim at him with his Seal Recon Rifle (ACOG and AN/PEQ) with range being around 18 tiles, but CTH was a sordid 0. Whatever, my bad, messed something up in cth constants, I guessed.
Thankfully, I do backup all files before changing them, so i reverted CTH constants and Ja2 options to their respective bups and reloaded the save but the moment it finished loading I get:

*** Mon Jan 21 00:57:32 2013 ***
[ 33HUL-30K1N-VQFC5-IK9TT-9XBPI ]

[59.9742] : ERROR : File : vobject.cpp
Line : 965
Location : BltVideoObjectToBuffer
Video object index is larger than the number of subimages

I tried starting a new game in case I broke the save. Everything worked nicely until I hired a merc and exited laptop screen... exactly same error. I tried hiring different mercs... same.

Already tried reinstalling... I'm lost now. Thanks in advance, and Big as ur maps thanks Smeagol for sharing yor awesomeness with us mere mortals

P.S. Hope u enjoyed the (not so) short story

I think I fixed it... there seems to be a problem with 1.13.5762 or with the lightweight version of christmas release or maybe I just screwed up during installation.

Anyways, I just made a clean copy of vanilla JA2 gold and downloaded/installed with full xmas release 7zip... no errors so far, even finished tweaking my inis.

Hello

I'm using the stable version v21 (http://jagged-alliance.pl/plik473/pobierz/) and I have problem with strategic map. The city of Meduna is not fully covered by grey lines, and city Palmas has gone.

Does anyone know what might be the problem here.

I just install the clean version of JA2 and I'm putting directly on it, whole AIMNAS.

If you only have clean (as in vanilla) JA2 Gold, then that's the problem... You need to patch vanilla JA2 to v1.13 (you can get it here ).
You should have: vanilla JA2 + v1.13 + v1.13 hotfix + preferred version of AIMNAS.

Hope this helps!

Nyrm, do not do $whatever but better stick to installation guideline; "latest AIMNAS" (=Xmas release is not for 1.13 v4870 but newer dev version. See:
http://www.bears-pit.com/board/ubbthreads.php/topics/311288/Depri_s_Builds_and_Packages_Ge.html#Post311288

Q1. Those X show you which area has already been remade by bigmaps and which not.

It's highly recommended to read the FAQ thread and similar.

@Nyrm:
1: That happens sometimes for me too, I got around it by editing the INI manually to point at the correct executable. Once you've done that you should be able to use the editor normally.
2: The XMas release does not assign skill-specific items to IMPs. There are people on the other forums who have released modded XMLs that do, you may want to try those but make sure they're meant for AIMNAS.
4: I've never had playable speed on Linux either, but I'm not a very sophisticated user yet.
5: On Bigmaps the deploy screen does not show the entire sector. That map is scrollable, you may have to use the keyboard though.

Make sure that the very first tab 'description' on the right of this window is selected (so that the description 'this is how you access your account ...' is displayed).
The buttons do not work if 'general' or 'advanced' tabs are displayed there.

Not really a bug but the Evo III A1 MP is misnamed as "Nothing" and the Flamethrower Tank is named "Flamethrower Clip" at BR's.

So I've just installed the latest dev build of 113 and the easter release of aimnas, and several inventory items and weapons seem to be coming up with the wrong icon, or just blank. Not sure if it's symptomatic of anything more serious, might just be I've bodged the installation, though I was under the impression you just extract the filkes to the root ja2 directory?

Ah, is that not the correct install procedure?
I took that as being the intended instruction here:
'3) Unpack the AIMNAS ***.7z archive you got from my SkyDrive and copy it's contents to C:\Games\JA2 (or wherever you put your installation), again, let it overwrite anything it wants and double check if it doesn't ask.
Congratulations, you should now have a working AIMNAS installation!'

Or are you rather implying that it might be simply because I'm using a really recent, relatively untested version/s?
If so perhaps I should roll back to an earlier build?

Version: XMAS release downloaded from DepressiveBrot's "AIMNAS BigMaps Beta SCI", which has been cleanly installed.

Found a little bit of an oddity when using the MAT-49. I was able to fire it while in collapsed mode, though it shouldn't be possible. Although I do get the "?" cursor instead of the usual burst/auto cursor, it is possible to fire single shots(!) if I click anyway. (Tested it on real-time after a battle on B9).

Hope it helps, this is my first time around on the Pit.

EDIT: Still playing as I'm posting this edit. I reached B14 and noticed fences surrounding a cluster of houses on the south/southwest of the sector In fact, all fences in this particular sector. They are completely passable, as though they were ghost fences.
