Running on 5882 just fine. Requires you to add SquadNames.xml to TableData and move Pockets.xml and PocketPopups.xml from TableData\Inventory to TableData\Items for both Data-AFS and Data-1.13 folders.

I disabled Flugente's External Feeding and have had no incidents of crashes with initiating dealings with Tony after doing so many times during one play session. The thing is is you can't just reload a save and reproduce this crash. You can load a save from before dealing with Tony and deal with him several times and not crash or crash immediately. But if you go conquer a sector or something then return to Tony to sell the loot it usually crashes. Would be nice if others getting this crash could test this and report their findings from disabling External Feeding. I believe there may be some unintended behavior with Tony "feeding" players ammo but it's hard to say given the random nature of the crash. So far it has worked for me. Unfortunate since the mod was designed around the feature but I haven't found any awesome machine guns yet during my playing anyway.

A couple of other things of note. The SMLE has no dirt modifier and does not seem to get dirty from firing, this is probably unintended but maybe not. The Excel Arms x30-r also has this problem, there are probably others but I have not noticed any yet.

Probably a silly mistake on my part, but when I go to the bullet train website in the laptop, I get the old flower shop text through the screen.

I think it's an install mistake, but if people could point me to the fix I would be much obliged.

Thanks CapnJack for the reminder that they resorted the XML's again. Back on track with SCI_Unstable_Revision_5872_on_GameDir_1608 and JA2_5878.

Fixed - Igor's second kit comes with wrong ammo. (.40 S&W Pistol Mags)

Fixed - Buns's first kit comes with a match sight she can't attach. (removed the Match Sight)

Fixed - Taurus Public Defender has the same range for both .410 and .45 Colt. (found that most dual .410/.45 Colt weapons seemed to have the same range so added some appropriate differences)

Fixed - Beretta RX Storm (now uses generic 5.56 sounds instead of 9x19mm)

Fixed - PP-19 Bizon (PM) doesn't have slots for rod & spring (found all the new PM-19 variants were missing attachments)

Fixed - Saiga 410K (>) can't be unfolded. (found both item transformations missing)

Fixed - .410 Mag BS (10 rounds) has a description typo. (found that all .410 Buckshot rounds had the same description)

Fixed - PO 3.5 seems to cause a glitch where it can't be removed or right-clicked. Stats + Korsak slot still work. Currently happened on a Vityaz mod. stock. (wrong NAS layout)


Not a Bug - LE901 lower ejects a 7.62 NATO mag when combined.
- When you buy the LE901 Lower you get a free 7.62x51 mag. A dummy caliber was not used as I found weapons supplied by Bobby Rays that lack a valid magazine will not be produced in-game with default attachments.

Interestingly I am investigating this one difference between Upper Receivers and working AR's as a possible cause to the odd supply problems with uppers.

Wrong Thread. Also what you are running into is a known issue, cannot be fixed until someone externalizes the text that's embedded in the .exe.

Fixed - "The Stone 63..."

Changed - MagPul PDR-C, Draw decreased by 1. Keeping price the same as PDR for now.


EDIT: Using SCI_Unstable_Revision_5882_on_GameDir_1610, I could not replicate the CTD with either AR Rate Reducer or Improved Bolt. Using the same gun as in the graphic I was able to attach each attachment to separate guns.

As I suspected, the issue with Bobby Ray's delivering only 1 AR Upper Receiver is due to the dummy calibers not having any real magazines. Aside from asking a coder to determine why BR doesn't like guns without magazines for this mod (and lets be honest play style is a factor too... I've only intended for Uppers to be available in small numbers but people keep using "exploitative" game settings), there are a few other options all of them bad:

1) Stop using dummy calibers in uppers
- leads to an exploit where magazines can be produced by separating the AR

2) Make uppers Misc items
- no weapons stats show up in BR's

3) Create Magazines in the dummy calibers
- the exploit now produces a pile of useless magazine items

4) Do nothing
- players will only be able to buy uppers one at a time

Good news, I think I've found a workaround, and it can be applied to the lower receivers too so they don't show up with magazines going forward.

5) Dummy magazines of 0 round capacity. The game seems to regard these as valid magazines meaning they Bobby Ray deliveries show up with default attachments and in numbers greater than 1 per order, but as 0 size capacity guns and magazines they do not seem to appear in-game, so no piles of useless dummy magazines.

According to DepressivesBrot's Savegame and compatibility Notice Here as of Rev. 5872 XML changes will break savegame/mod compatibility. ie. v4.00 is not going to work without some modification as I found a last night. I even put up a warning on this page...

The next morning, CapnJack had posted the fix:

I've encountered a bug while playing AFS 4 on SVN 5882 that causes an entire sector inventory to disappear except for one item that is grayed out. It's probably a 1.13 bug since I've had sector inventories disappear before I've just never caught it till much later when it's too late. I have a savegame for it, all you have to do to make the items disappear from H14 is load the currently selected sector (Alma H14) to tactical view and all items in the sector will vanish. Should I put up a thread in the bug reports section with the savegame?

Yes please, if sector item is going missing again it is most likely a general bug.


The ARES Shrike was missing a merger, and separation item transformation. Fixed for v4.10.

A thought regarding the 4 default attachment slots and AR-15s.
How about splitting the four into two sets? Upper and lower. Two modifications for each. This way, if you dismantle your weapon, you could mix and match quicker and easier once everything's been tinkered with. This, of course only being applicable if you plan on adding any such specific upgrades in the future.

An annoying quirk of the transformation mechanism is that attachments that don't fit the 1st produced item (which seems to retain the stats of the original item) are ejected instead of checking for an appropriate home on the 2nd produced item. AR uppers produced by separating an existing, and loaded up, AR gun will lack any attachments. Indeed the game seems to be producing a clean sheet version of the 2nd item, which is why I'm using dummy calibers, to prevent the spawning of free ammo which the game likes to produce whenever a gun is created.

EDIT: I decided to change the Improved Bolt to only fit direct impingement AR's (not piston ones) and their uppers. Fully expecting it to be dumped into inventory, I separated a M4 and found that the Improved Bolt ended up stuck on the Upper. Oddly, did the same thing to the ARES Shrike with I just added the item transform yesterday and all the attachments were dumped from the Upper.

If all goes well, AFS v4.10 will be out tomorrow and I begin work on DL-1.13 v4.10 / and back-fitting all the fixes into UC-1.13 v4.10.

Just as a question: Are GasPiston AR-15s also, inherently, more reliable then the DirectGasImpingment models (in the mod)? Then this change would make a lot of sense!


Another thing, I don't know if it's really a bug you could do anything about, but well:

I am still at Preview-2, and I wanted to equip my sniper with a .338 LM weapon finally. I've "looted" a couple of rifles and found an annoying bug: If you use the "Scope Rings" adapter and a variable magnificartion scope, the attachment "breaks" on changing magnifications. That is you can change the magnification an then the "new" variable power scope occupies the same attachment slot as the adapter making any more changes impossible, as one can only select the adapter rings and not the scope. Unattaching the scope rings 'gives back' the scope, making it usable again... I've "tested" it on the DSR-1 and the DesertTactical.

I don't know how hard it would be, but maybe it would be better/easier if those larger scopes are inherently usable by all those LongRangeSniper systems, even though they are equipped with P-rails?
EDIT: Maybe like you do with the AK-12s? (I really like how they are implemented, btw)

(BTW: The SVU-A I had found early in the game is incredible by the way: fast, realtively accurate, high damage...)

Yes, piston AR's are generally more reliable in-game than direct gas impingement AR's.

Attached guns still have some issues that hopefully Flugente will revisit someday. I've still got to get around to posting in the correct threads things like this as well as some XML Editor issues I've run into.

The BAR has auto fire mode only yet it is a select fire weapon and should have semi-auto capability.

EDIT: Also, .22 WMR Match Ammo in at least the 10 round magazines gives no range or accuracy bonus, basically the same as ball ammo.

I personally prefer the current 'placeholder' over the same graphic. Otherwise, Sam_Hotte has a valid point here.

Wolf, you better upload the INI, I cannot load the game with the stock AFS INI.

Also can you specify if by latest AFS you mean v4.10 that was released a few days ago - I took particular care to test the new dummy ammo magazine fix for this issue.

Found it, there was a mistake in the fake .22LR Upper magazine needed to trick the game into thinking the uppers and lowers have a valid magazine. Looks like only the .22LR Uppers are affected.

Looking at your save game Wolf, you can afford better guns than .22LR - so no rush to have this fixed. I've already got a backlog of stuff that needs to be approved by ModDB.

EDIT: looks like when I tried to update v4.00 to v4.10 on ModDB I botched it - hence why it still hasn't been approved yet, but DL-1.13 v4.20 was approved in a few hours. Might as well do a quick AFS v4.30 for upload later today.

The Diemaco's "give" the same lowers as all the other AR-15s so no problem.

I'm not sure if this was brought up,but I think you can't attach the stock/holster to the Stechkin APS. Or is it done differently than for the VP70?

The Stechkin APS Stock/Holster was missing the NAS Attachment Class tag meaning the game didn't know what NAS slot to produce on the Stechkin.

Additionally, this leads to a bit of a feature request for the XML Editor, we need the "Attachment Data" tab to appear for LBE items (not specifically for this, thought it would have been useful, but for the modular LBE feature that was added recently which also has LBE attaching to other LBE to add pockets).

That's a known issue with attached guns. I think I've found some additional bugs with the overall attached gun system:
- ammunition fired by the attachment gun does not seem to reflect the correct ammotype (ie. exploding ammo won't explode correctly)
- I cannot seem to hit anything from attached shotguns, however attached rifles seem to do better, leading to the workaround of having the rifle attached to the shotgun primary weapon.


Fixed:

Robinson Arms XCR Pistol (6.8mm SPC) - incorrect magazine size

Ceramic Plate - incorrect BR description
