Also, I've been a lurker here since I think literally the beginning (right around JA2 release)! Nice to finally post.

Hello DariusK!

Great

I'm interested in hearing how far back into JA's past your book goes. Does it track the development of JA2 uniquely or does it go all the way to Ambush? Smile

Also, the site posted by fathamburger mentions a Spring 2014 release date. Is the book finished already?

Welcome to the Pit, Darius. I've always thought the destiny of this great game was worthy of a book, it has more drama & romance than "Gone with The Wind", glad someone got around to writing it.

Thanks! The book focuses primarily on JA2, but it does go into the history of the series and Ian Currie's early real-time prototypes that eventually became Jagged Alliance. There's a little Sir-tech history there too. I only have 30k words to work with, so it's a short book and I'm trying to focus as much on JA2 as I can, including looking at the source code. So far I've corrected about 50k words of interviews with the developers.

I plan to have the first draft done by early February for the Spring release.
