Sure it was linear, but some of the best map design in Jagged Alliance games and a really fun map editor. Loved it as a kid.

And first JA game to have multiplayer! (and only one until v1.13).

I actually played DG first, then JA2, then JA1... go figure.

That was pretty much my playing order, Shanga. Turned out I didn't much like playing JA1 by that time, but I could recognize its original charm.

I still have a bucketload of zipped homebrew maps and campaigns for Deadly Games that I spent countless hours fine-tuning as a teen. Oh man... the nostalgisania.

Hello AvianSavara,

AvianSavara
Sure thing. Let me dig them out for you and I'll sort out what's worth sharing and what's just shameful Wink

There is nothing you have to feel ashamed! Most important is that you did/are doing something and everyone starts with small steps. Smile But of course I understand what you mean. So if you have found the files and decided which you would like to share with the other DG fans out there just send me a message with the link and instructions (folder name, mission or campaign etc.)

Thank you!

Edit:

Or we put everything in a folder with your name here (best including a short Readme file if possible):

Hey Schein, unrelated to the topic at hand but I just created an account so I could ask you a question. I see that you seem pretty well versed in all things Jagged so I thought you'd be a good person to ask. I have Jagged Alliance and Deadly Games on CD which I run on Dosbox on my Mac. The mac is old and runs 10.5.8 os.

I saw that link to all the campaigns people created and I desperately want to play it. I download them and then it requests an application to open the document and nothing works. The only thing highlighted is jagged_alliance_dos but that does not work. Any hints would be greatly appreciated as I have been a fan of the series since it came out and still play it to this day. I would love to indulge in some of these user created missions. I am slightly computer illiterate if that helps you.

Thanks for the help in advance.

I think there's a specific folder/location you need to place the custom scenarios in order for them to be seen by the game. And I am pretty sure you access them from within the game, not directly (by opening them).

Hey thanks for the quick reply. I tried accessing them from within the game but maybe the issue is I didn't put them in the correct folder. I will try putting them in my Deadly Games folder and see if that helps. Thanks for the heads up.

My guess that custom scenarios go inside /DEADLY/SCENARIO and custom campaigns go into /DEADLY/CAMPAIGN (this is PC folder structure, but you should have at least something similar). Test this by creating your own custom scenario using ingame editor and see where it saves it. And that would be the location you need.
