There is something REALLY off with the Ice Cream truck. Using stable r7462 and GameDir r2132, the truck is invisible. As in, he blocks tiles but cannot be seen or interacted with. If I hardcode him to be visible (bVisible = 2), then I can see him and enter him.

This bug is not present in the current unstable. Using the unstable exe on the stable GameDir also works, so the error must be somewhere in the stable exe itself.

A polish user (new) has reported an even weirder behaviour. In his savegames (http://przeklej.org/file/DteIog/odd.ice.cream.rar), the truck is a civilian. Which can be entered. And walk around. Leaving the abomination crashes the game.

Could it be that some parts of the 'drive vehicles around' feature have entered the stable code?


I am currently checking the bug and see what causes it ...

EDIT: I am not able to reproduce the bug. everything seems fine with the ice cream truck.

and I don't know if there is somekind of autopick up feature, but my merc Jimmy seem to have fetish to pick up stuff when ever he wants. he picked up extended ear piece now several times and lockpick kit, once a while I get error message about extended ear and I think it is because he tries wear one he pick up even he already have one. Also one time I did throw that extra lockpick kit from his inventory and soon after it was there already but still showed up on floor where I did throw it, this time if I did take mouse cursor over floor one, it gave text "nada". Sorry don't have any screenshots.

Iam having this bug/problem idk what it is for a long time now with 1.13

Sorry for not posting screenshot but after the problem my game stuck on enemy turn , i exited and when i try loading the save , i get runtime error saying read error:998

Ill describe the situation ... i have a merc prone/crouching/standing that shoots with pistol/smg(even happens with assault rifles from time to time) and an enemy soldier who is no more than 20 tiles away and there is nothing between them , literaly there is only air between them , and the game gives me black cursor ( blocked shot ) for the legs , for the torso , but not for the head !
For the head it gives me red flashing cursor ( out of efective range ) ... ?!?!?! and this is not the only situation it happend , various scenarios some questionable some like this not ..

This thing annoys the hell out of me for a long time now ... it happens on every 1.13 build i played it also happens on 1.13 related mods like AR and UC1.13 , in fact this thing prevented me from playing UC1.13 because it happend very often.
I dont know if iam wrong but i dont recall this happening on vanilla JA2 or even vanilla UC.
Its not something that happens 100% once per hour for example .. but has a habbit of happening on bad times and places
Idk is this a bug, or something bout the game i dont understand, or some config has to be made on my part . I tryed searching for this but nothnig came out , dk if other ppl have encountered this.
So please if anyone can help with something bout this or knows what it is and why it happens , pls do tell. Other than that i have no other problems with 1.13. Curently iam using 2014 Stable 1.13 Release (7435) and no other mods.

Damn got this error again . This time i was using just wf6.07 maps and durging gameplay in strategic screen something weird started to happen with the mercs eyes on portrait then the portraits got mixed up ( on my Imp the game was showing Fox'es portrait ). I'm not testing 1.13, but did notice a number of 0% inventory items with Deadly Games mercs in Legion 2. Presuming they are using the same code from 1.13? Things like grenades that don't have any condition % values result in useless/broken items. Spike Scallion for example had this issue.

Seems to be an issue with Legion 2 alone.

I have this problem with the English and French version:
Little problem with Kevin "Maddog" Cameron's inventory...
Items adds in his inventory... Every hour.

You can simply set 0 in his background (#72), and he will stop doing this.

Nobody will give me any quests, or it's kind of rare. I have like 75 leadership with the squad leader trait, yet Skyrider won't let me escort him anywhere. Angel won't tell me about his sister even though I bought the jacket from him. Hans won't tell me about the lesbo not leaving his store. I can still give her porn and get in the back room. Carmen won't give me the bounty hunting quest.

Can't reproduce in stable. An IMP with 65 leadership is able to start Carmen's quest or talk to Angel just fine. What merc did you use?

An IMP. The only thing I can seem to get is Waldo mentioning the pilot, Father Walker sending food, and the main quest stuff with the Rebels. Nothing else is working.

It just won't. A quick test with a fresh install of the game and no changes at all, I created an IMP with leadership 85 and Squad leader, went to talk to Angel, bought the jacket. Then he says something about owning the store for two years, then says he has things to attend to and doesn't say anything else after that.

Do I have to take over half of Arulco for anyone to talk to me?

Here is a saved game just from a quick test. I didn't do anything but flee the first battle and head to Angel to test.

What approach did you test? For Angel, i think last time i tested (a week ago on latest dev build), i went friendly until he sold me the jacket, and then unlocked the quest with maria with 'direct' approach.

Maybe your social trait can have an influence too ? (??)

Flugente has figured it out. Malicious. I guess NPCs aren't too popular about that one. I had two IMPs that I'd play with and both had that one, I liked shooting people in the nuts. I usually do the friendly approach, then direct. If all else fails, I'd do threaten, but I either didn't do threaten, or it didn't work either.

I created an IMP with Pacifism, just to test, and it worked straight up. The background was Competitive shooter. I'll just be more aware of how these things actually affect me in the future.

I can't play with my games (English and French)...
I don't know if It's bugs... Or It's my games or my computer.
French version:
Day 14.
1) I can't leave sector.
2) At mona C-5 (First battle with the soldiers of the Queen):
At the end of battle...
"Kingpin"'s men attack my mercenary "hrvg" (IMP only... Not Ira, Sangsue, Manuel and Mire.)
Not screenshot... Because I delete my savegame, sorry.
3) My game crashes when I click on backpack in the inventory of mercenary (only one, not the others mercenaries).
For example (It's French version only):
At Drassen...
Crepitus attack the mine:
Sector D-13/Level 1--> sector 1...
I click on Ira's inventory...
(No "HRVG", "SANGSUE", "MANUEL" and "MIRE".)
My game crashes.

It's unplayable.

English version:
Day 6.
1) I can't move my mercenaries on the strategic map (I-8)... I go on the tactical map... I have an error...
My message: Runtime error -- Press to exit....

I can't force Turn-Based mode. According to the Hotkeys document "D Done / End turn in turn-based combat mode / Activate turn-based when in real-time mode"

This does nothing. I've also tried CTRL-X while sneaking and that doesn't do anything either.

I'm not at the code atm, but have you tried [Ctrl] + [t]?

There is also an option in the game preferences menu for realtime-sneaking, try activating that.

First off, this is a bug with an unstable relase, not the '14 stable, so this post and all following posts should be moved to the right place. This issue does NOT happen in the '14 stable release.

Now, to the issue at hand. You, dear sir, are right to be confused. Very recently, a separate method to define game difficulty was added. Some values that were in JA2_Options.ini were moved to TableData/Data-1.13/DifficultySettings.xml. Here you can set those values, and add more difficulty levels (although doing so will crash your game, because apparently we don't test what we commit, so just don't). The starting cash bits in the ini are just relics - the game will read them, complain if you give bad ones, but never use them anyway.

Should you feel very confused by this right now, don't worry, you have every right to. This change was not publicly announced, so you have no chance of knowing unless you read our SVN logs daily :whythis: . Just edit the DifficultySettings.xml and wonder :dontknow2:

When the enemy surrenders to you, bloodcats do not. That is intentional and not a bug. While this can lead to the cats mauling the helpless prisoners, not surrendering would lead to the player gunning down the enemies. A rare chance to be killed by a 'cat is still better than to be guaranteed to be shot.

Neither of these does what I need. They just toggle the options. It doesn't change anything with forcing turn based mode to begin with.

Stable 7512(7515) bug:
If Player attach to helmet Night googles(where they have -10(20)% hit penalty)this hit penalty also apply to merc cth.It must not apply such penalty if merc wear google at helme only when it wearing at face.

Checked this with SDO Overhaul.

So you want to use real time sneaking and being able to go turn based at the moment you want to?
If that's your situation, you should have 'real time sneaking' activated (ctrl + shift + x to toggle on/off of you need)
Then, if you spot an enemy and want to go turn-based, press 'crtl + x'. Do you have an enemy in sight when you press that key combination? It may be required.

Group27(AI) attempting illegal move from D2 to C1 (GROUNDBARRIER)

The bug was found in russian release, but is reproducable with english release, too.
Tested with clean stock 1.13, without mods.

A graphical glitch. Happens at vertical resolutions above 768 when a rifle is placed in the Merc's main (or right-hand) slot. The greater the resolution the farther up it draws the blank panel that is supposed to cover the second (or left-hand) inventory slot to make it unavailable. The first screenshot is at a vertical resolution of 800. Second shot is 900 (If I remember correctly). At 1920 x 1200 it draws the blank panel right through the top of Lynx's head.

Hm. According to the code, an enemy group consisting of 0 soldiers patrols around there and decided to move from C2 to D2. After all 0 people arrived, they decided to move to their next patrol point, which is C1. This is a diagonal move, which is not allowed, so the game decides first things first, and says 'move West'. One cannot move West (because there is an ocean and thus the xmls forbid it). So we decide to crash.

Did you alter any patrols routes here?

I assume the problem was caused during the battle in the SAM site. I assume they were reinforced from the north, did anything fishy happen in that battle?

I guess a solution would be to simply delete enemy groups with no persons. However, strategic movement code is notorious... I'd rather not add a fix than breaks something due to unforeseen use of empty groups.

Is it possible to fix this save to be able to continue playing and to see if that happens again or it was some kind of random mysterious bug? Smile

Thank you for the patch, it solves the problem.
Will try to find out the source of it if it happens again.

Yes, but that would only fight the symptoms. The problem isn't that we have a group of size 0 that wants to make an invalid move - the problem is that somewhere a group of size 0 was created, and it was ordered to do a invalid move.

You can apply this patch to your exe - it will fix this case of th error - but finding the problem would be better. You could recreate that by loading an older savegame, or around the time the fighting in the SAM took place, and see wether any group is getting such odd values.

I can't force Turn-Based mode. According to the Hotkeys document "D Done / End turn in turn-based combat mode / Activate turn-based when in real-time mode"

This does nothing. I've also tried CTRL-X while sneaking and that doesn't do anything either.

So you want to use real time sneaking and being able to go turn based at the moment you want to?
If that's your situation, you should have 'real time sneaking' activated (ctrl + shift + x to toggle on/off of you need)
Then, if you spot an enemy and want to go turn-based, press 'crtl + x'. Do you have an enemy in sight when you press that key combination? It may be required.



No I don't want real time sneaking. I just want to activate turn based whenever I want so that I can get the drop on the enemy instead of them.

I'm getting attacked by Kingpins assassins. They just run up to me and start shooting point blank. The only thing I can do is to try to click on them before they get to me so it will go to turn based mode. I'd rather just hit a key and go to turn based mode straight up.
