Hi, been away a while but keep getting drawn back.

Would like to install the latest AIMNAS (really enjoyed it previously, though not sure what version I now have - it's been about 18 months) without the big maps - because I want to play a full campaign.

I don't mean tell me how to remove the big maps from the latest release from Xmas last year, just where can I get the last one that didn't have the big maps. And what version of 1.13 will I need to get this to work.

Keep up the good work.

Cheers.

Thanks - but I can't seem to see any links to AIMNAS v21 - just the Xmas release? Links in the Install Page are down.

The question was propably already asked but, is the new 1.13 release (7435) compatible with the newest AIMNAS-Mod (X-MAS-release)?

Is there an AIMNAS version available without big maps that works with the newest JA2 patch? Big maps appears bugged on the new version.

You should definitely make them as separate download. I cannot play in Arulco anymore, since weapons and attachments can be calibrated and balanced only for one version: either BigMaps or standart maps. What am i supposed to do in that case? Redefine all the variables within config-files everytime a battle happening in a sector, which use different (normal/bigmaps) pattern, compairing to sector with a previous battle? And what's the problem with that anyway? Since contents are not integrated into maps, are they?

Play the mod as it's intended and while it lasts. IT IS A BETA! Neitronus

They are. Transitioning between BM and any other mapset will litter the other maps with more or less random gunk both map objects and items. Such is the way of the game's ID system.

Already started adopting WF607 maps for AIMNAS. Not sure if anyone want to merge those two, but tilests are working great, and the only problem there is loot. I think loot replacement won't take long.

BTW, there's any way to open maps in other way than an editor? It could make ID replacement much easier.

Just that he knows just how much work this is Very Happy
And of course you don't have to use the editor, you could always take a look at the map format and write a conversion tool that uses a replacement table to swap out the IDs. I'd actually be impressed if you did.

There are wildfire maps with vanilla only items, made by Parkan.
There are also maps in SDO with random id items, not sure if it's possible to use them with aimnas item mod with xml-tweaks.

SDO has 2 WF 6.07 map sets, the first with with vanilla and 1.13 items and all tilesets changed to build fortifications anywhere, and the last with fortifications and SDO-specific random items. These random items use an other index range than 3001-4000.

The first map set doesn't have "universally" useable random items because there's no such item set implanted in Stock 1.13 even after all these months.

As far as i know Uriens wants to use my first map set and populate them with random items from AFS.

Well, i've noticed 1 problem about IDs in a map editor: ammo boxes (not crates) appear to have 8000+ ID (AIMNAS), so they are not listed in editor's "ammo" category. Any solution to this? Ye, ofc i can avoid using of those, but i think it could be less immersive.

Any changes you do will be pretty much void with next release anyways, as I already switched around several item IDs in the items.xml again... just sayin'.

Not yet.

Best bet will be to place "random items" and define things for the 1k random items anyways... the idea was to use the item slots designated for random items to allow crossing over between mods.

There was a discussion if 1k random items was enough or if that number should be increased to 2k. I haven't invested any time into that yet, but I will probably add in another 1k slots for random items at some point... though without a coherent spreadsheet that tells you what a random item contains, it will be even more tedious...

I'm pretty sure that no one invested much time into that yet (maybe Wil did, but I haven't seen him around lately too often...).

So without any work put into random items I would simply keep away from investing time into replacing items, as it is a) tedious and b) wasted time and effort as there will certainly be a different system of map placed items being put into place in the future anyways.

Better spent time developing a coherent spreadsheet for item drops first. But that's just my 2 cents...

Or You can edit files in XML Editor and replace nada items with items that have a similar ID-s as in stock 1.13! Of course, when a new version of AIMNAS comes out you'll have to start all over again!
