Give it another year. Patches, mods/plugins, community fixes...

It's got charm already. Could bloom into something beautiful.

Yep, if we know how to push the devs onto the right path we might get them to add a lot of good stuff.

A native item transformation (fold/unfold stock) feature would be awesome and will surely save our dear modders a bunch of time.
Wink wink. Wink

That's a bloody nice idea to add to the list. Will post on official forums.

It saddens me but I have to agree with a previous poster with whom I disagreed before... this is more JA1 than JA2 Sad In fact Wasteland 2 is more JA2 than this, panda is very very sad now.

True. But then again, this is more of a prequel which takes place before Metavira.

Strongly disagree. The combat system in Wasteland 2 is even far more simple. But the rest of the game is a lot bigger and more fleshed out and polished than JA:F at its current state.

But if we just take a look back at the release of JA2, we'd see that it was by no means perfect and feature complete from the beginning. In fact, it wasn't somewhat complete and mostly bug free until final 1.12 patch, which took how long again? And even then it still had a lot of dodgy parts and never implemented features.

What we have today thanks to 1.13 project is almost a completely new game, with roughly twice as many features, content and bugfixes than vanilla JA2 ever had. it simply isn't comparable.

Also don't forget that Wasteland 2 got about 3.000.000 Bucks for development, more than triple that of the original funding goal of 900.000$! JA:F had little more than a full 1/10th of that budget, so there really is no fair comparison in any regards. Come to think of it, Full Control actually did a pretty good, at the very least adequate, job in comparison with the comparatively meager means available to them!

Actually, "pushing" them might be the wrong angle. Better we lead and accompany them along the way, with all the support we can provide!
JA:F is and should be a game for the fans, by fans of the franchise and a combined effort. I think it is just not entirely fair to leave everything to the devs.
The community will have to make this game its own, the devs merely should provide the means to do so. But THAT we must claim from them and insist on no matter what! :dontlike:

Because if the Full Control people fail us on this central promise, they'll have failed the franchise, the fanbase and in total, and then we should seek mercilessly bloody vengeance on them! :rifle:
