I'm a bit unsure about Use_Scope_Modes in the ini file - what does this setting change exactly?

If I set it to false, does that mean that mercs will automatically select the best scope/sight for the distance they're shooting at and I don't have to worry about it anymore? I'd welcome that!

So... of the 72 people who viewed this thread noone was involved in modding and has an idea?

Well, maybe then someone knows the logic behind not being able to use camo kits anymore when playing with old traits?

Regarding scope modes - if they are turned off the game tries to decide the best mode but as far as I remember you can't shoot from hip. Also you won't be able to select a different mode which may provide almost equal results but cost less AP. So it's either auto or full customization.

What is it you mean with the camo kits? Camo kits can only be used to paint skin which is 5 percent of the body as per "CAMO_KIT_USABLE_AREA" in JA2_Options.ini. The rest of the camo has to come from your equipment.

Thanks for the info regarding the scope modes that's interesting regarding the AP. I never noticed that using different scope/sights may need a different amount of AP.

Regarding the camo kits: In Vanilla and in my last 1.13 mod you could take a camo kit and click on your body until you had 100% camouflage. When I try to do that now the game tells me this is no longer possible with old traits. It makes sense regarding the 5% of your body I assumed I could still do it the Vanilla way if I had chosen to play with new traits. The "error" message in the game is too ambiguous regarding this and that's what made me wonder.

So many new things to look out for with all these improvements of the game. It's very hard to keep track and get everything if you're not involved in the modding process on a very regular basis. I had to point out to a friend last night that right-clicking on the mini-map shows the last remaining enemy, and that has been around for a few years! big grin
