does anbody else think that having two recoil values is counter productive for balanincg firearms? i was thinking on giving all weapns a constant bRecoilX, and adjust bRecoilY accoring to real live firerate and length of the barrel. What do you guys think?

I don't think so. Vertical recoil doesn't only depend on rate of fire and barrel length. So having a separate value for that is a good thing.

ok agree will keep a ratio of 1/2.5.Do attributes like burst/auto penatly matter in NCTH or are those also relicts from OCTH?

Of course the burst/auto penalty matters in NCTH. That's why auto weapons are best used by mercs that have the trait. Well, that applies to all weapons. A merc should use what he is most proficient with.

I don't quite understand how burst/auto penalty is measured? what stats does it affect? is a flat to hit modifier? my motivation is to rebalance all the firearms in game according to their real live values, trying to find a formula that all firearms adjust to. I've spent weeks theory crafting creating multiple excels in the process. it would highly appreciate your feedback.

I believe there is a misunderstanding here. Are we talking about the trait penalties for auto weapons or the ubBurstPenalty and AutoPenalty in Weapons.xml? The trait modifiers apply to OCTH and NCTH and depend only on the trait system that is used (old or new).
The two values in Weapons.xml apply only to OCTH. There they act as multipliers in a CTH penalty calculation that causes CTH for every bullet after the first to be more inaccurate. This effect can be countered by tracer ammo and auto weapons trait. If you want to see details you need to check the formulas in Weapons.cpp function CalcChanceToHitGun.
