Hello. So I wasn't playing ja2 for a while but I wanted to go for it again, so basically I am playing the game by one merc from time to time, this time too. I created IMP character and started the game but later realised I made a mistake in choosing specialisation - i chose sniper (expert) instead of sniper + night ops, so I was wondering if there is any way to edit that in game files or something because i got some progress that I do not want to waste, I hope that it is somehow possible, if so, i'll be glad if someone would be kind enough to instruct me how to do this .

Well I think I'll just go with those specialisations I've chosen, I played this game many times already so it's not a big issue I guess. Yeah I basically just create IMP and no other characters. I play like this on 1.13 all the time, actually when I think about it right now, I only once played "normally" recruiting many mercs, usually I just make IMP character, I max all the necessary combat stats and start with low explosives, med, mech, leadership and then I play. It's hard only at the beginning, especially when it comes to taking and defending Drassen. Game is more fun for me this way. Although i should try "insane" difficulty at some point I think .

Hi Granatnik, welcome to the pit!
The only way to alter a character in an ongoing campaign is via a debugger (download the code, build your own debug exe with Visual Studio, then edit the loaded file). There are also ancient IMP editors or some hex edit tools, but that stuff is utterly outdated.
I know now that it could never work between us, as much as we wanted to, it could never be! Not because you're a rabbit, but because you're black.
If you want, you can donate to me. This will not affect how and what I code, and I will not code specific features in return. I will be thankful though.Report message to a moderator
