Made it to 1.13 now thx for the nice work to everyone involved.

Some days ago I had a runtime error and of course didn't save before it. Wanted to load the autosave file, but only found the quicksave and the standard save spots in the 'load game' menu.

Today found some time to browse the folders, had a look at the .ini files and editors and the savegame folder. There is a savegame19 which I think should be the autosave, have I to move it to one of the other spots to restore is or is there a way in the game to do this?

And what is savegame97?

Autosaves that were created during tactical combat can be loaded in game by open the 'load' screen and hitting alt+A / alt+B (or was it ctrl+A/B? not sure).
Dunno if this applies to the strategical autosaves at noon/midnight as well.

auto saves at the end of players turn can be loaded from the load screen by pressing ALT+a or ALT+b.

the automatic strateegic saves when you compress time cannot be loaded out of the box. you habe to quit ja2, rename the file so that it appears in the load screen. then start ja2 again, go to the loadscreen and load the savegame.

in the next version of 1.13 you can load ALL savegames from the load screen.

Ok thx the strategic autosave was what I am talking about.
Wasn't urgent, I just found the parameter for this in the ini file and thought what I could do if that happens again.

Hey, I was wondering:

Is there a way to disable auto-save feature completely?

Hi happy

In JA2_Options.ini, set the following (either in the Profiles/"Your Mod" folder, or if not used then in the Data-"Your Mod" folder)
AUTO_SAVE_EVERY_N_HOURS = 0
EXTREME_IRON_MAN_SAVING_TIME_NOTIFICATION = 2

The first controls regular auto saves independent of difficulty settings ; the second controls additional auto saves specific to the Iron Man difficulty setup. Both are made on the strategic screen.
As far as i know, it is not possible to turn off the auto saves on the tactical screen, aka the combat auto saves.

You're welcome happy

And sorry, i totally forgot: after starting the game open the options/preferences screen. In the lower right corner is [Tactical End-Turn Save], turning this off disables the combat auto saves.
