Could anyone point me in the right direction to find ammunition values please? I was looking at AmmoStrings.xml for uIndex reference but did not find ammos like 5.56, 5.45 or .30 car anywhere in AmmoTypes.xml.

I would like to alter penetration and tumble values if possible. I am playing Vengeance Reloaded.

Ammunition values are derived from several properties in Items.xml.

Item.xml:
- <usItemClass> a value of 1024 means that this is ammo
- <ubClassIndex> points to the <uiIndex> in Magazines.xml

Magazines.xml:
- <ubCalibre> points to the <uiIndex> in AmmoStrings.xml
- <ubAmmoType> points to the <uiIndex> in AmmoTypes.xml

AmmoTypes.xml has the ammo properties like armor penetration and damage modifiers.


Example - Item 94 "5.56x45mm Mag 30 AP" in Items.xml:
<ubClassIndex>206</ubClassIndex>

<uiIndex>206</uiIndex> in Magazines.xml:
<ubCalibre>8</ubCalibre>
<ubAmmoType>2</ubAmmoType>

<uiIndex>8</uiIndex> in AmmoStrings.xml:
<AmmoCaliber>5.56x45mm</AmmoCaliber>

<uiIndex>2</uiIndex> in AmmoTypes.xml:
<name>AP/FMJ</name>
... many more ammo properties here ...

Thanks mate it is clear now.
Now it is obvious that many a rifle/magazine shares the same values in AmmoTypes.xml. Is that file also governs the bullet trajectory? I mean animation, that is why there are no separate entries for different bullets?

I think there is just one bullet animation.

Is there any resource available that describes the various ammo properties?

Also is there any negative effect on adding separate entries to different magazines? I mean to introduce new entries into AmmoTypes.xml for different magazines? Currently many if not all intermediate caliber shares the same value.

There are some explanations in AmmoTypes.xml. Apart from that you'd have to search in the forum.

If you want to create new definitions go ahead.

Already doing it thanks for the tips. Would you know by any chance if any mod went along modifying these values yet? I am getting good results with initial work and seems trivial to do it for example AR rounds now punch through up to level III armor like paper inflicting very heavy damage as should so I am 99% sure that some of you already modified these values?
