Hi guys,

Thought of you all as I was going through old things in my apartment to sell and found one thing which I thought would be more fun to give away rather than sell.

After JA2 Gold was released we got some promo sheets (I don't think this was the front of an actual box) and I had one signed by the other folks who were still at Strategy First. I had this mounted so it can be hung on the wall. But as the years have gone by I have collected more art and I haven't hung this on the wall in a while.

https://i.imgur.com/epMr3qol.jpg
(The blue is a table, not part of the poster)

Sooooo I'm thinking maybe someone here would like it? What I'm thinking is:
- Anyone who posts will be entered in a draw for it
- I will draw a name in a week's time, i.e. evening EST next Sunday
- Winner pays shipping, which I expect to be no more than $20 Cdn

In case any of you are curious as to what I'm up to these days:
- Been working at a company using the Unity game engine for non-gaming things
- Playing World of Tanks and Warframe
- Became very interested in the past few years about WW2
- Visited the Tank Museum in the UK twice in the last 18 months, and a bunch of smaller museums
- Working on a book about the British "Archer" self-propelled anti-tank gun

If one of the mods wants to move this post anywhere else that's fine with me.

Cheers,
Chris

My respect to a person who worked on AI in the Jagged Alliance 2! Knowing the limitations of computers in those days, the result was very impressive. Honestly, even today I don't know any turnbased tactical game with similar complexity of rules which could achieve that level of playability and competence with AI.

A bit off-topic but relevant as an interesting sidelight is this article about how some people want to find and preserve the bits of code ingenuity used in old games: http://www.bbc.com/future/story/20190919-the-maze-puzzle-hidden-within-an-early-video-game

OMG! Now that's a proper way to make your return into the community, Chris!
I bet any true fan, me included, would raise a small army to have that. I'll even make a post on our FB, this is definitely news worthy!

And again... WELCOME BACK!

Don't stay away from our Discord, too, that's where most active members hang out.

thumbs up wow I gotta say I've been a huge fan of this game since it came out, this game is #1 on my list and man I sure do wish you could come back and make a new one! But I know that probably won't happen I've tried all the rest and nothing comes close to the greatness of this game currently replying it for the 15th time only 3 more sectors to go to the palace! I swear every time I play this game it's never the same experience, my brother plays this also he says the same thing about how great this game is compared to everything they are making now. This game was way before its time! Great job and I wish you the best!

It's very nice to read news from you. You've gone far from Jagged Alliance, but Sirtech and this game series has been dear and vivid for us all this time, still.
Thank you for your kind thought for us, and the donation. It is warmly appreciated.

That's awesome, something I'd love to have. But my first thought was, why would I deserve something like that over these fine modders at The Bear's Pit? I don't. If I won, I'd pass it on to one of them for what they've done for THE greatest tactical strategy game ever made.

I miss classic Jagged Alliance. Every new one that comes out, I have very high hopes, but they all fall short.

If there was one remake of a game, Jagged Alliance is my vote every time. I can't wait for the day I get to play another true Jagged Alliance game.

Thanks for being a part of that development team and for giving us a true classic that still lives on two decades later. Cheers!

Here's hoping I'm drawn, this would be awesome hanging in my library, here in Edmonton. I love all the examples of great Canadian games, and none more so than SI's JA2.

Wowzerrs!! Thanks a ton man! This is phenomenal!! I still remember going through Patsuco's jagged alliance 2 guide and playing through the game! One of the very best ever all genres compared. I also bought the e-book Jagged Alliance 2 by Darius Kazemi. I highly recommend it to any JA2 fans!! Count me in and thanks for that awesomely awesome game!

Awesome to hear you are still keeping your hand in the development community. And to work on a masterpiece like JA2 'by accident' is quite a feat. Great to see you pass by here too.

What a coincidence, I played JA Rage recently, and that gave me the itch to re-visit JA2, and as usual, some puzzling things brought me back here, and what do I see, a visit from Chris?!?! That was rare even back in the days. happy

And with an awesome offer! thumbs up

Anyway, just wanted to say hi, and if I should be the lucky one to win the lottery, I'll donate it to someone more "worthy". big grin
