Greets,
I've been reading through this board and noticed no one seems to realize that you can gain AGI through this way.
Go to a nice empty sector with some civillians (preferbly a farm area). And attack one of them. Let them run off your sight and do Done until you go back to real-time mode.
Find that civillian again, when you spot him, go to stealth mode, make sure not to get too close, and simply spend your APs going back and forth in a line (Try to maintain around 6-8 squares away from the civ or he will get up and run away, annoying to chase).
Safe, easy way to raise AGI for those stat freaks among us (I'm one of them).
However, I do have a question: the cows don't seem to respawn in JA2 Gold v1.12? No more STR/DEX for me? T_T

I sent a small vid to you via your hotmail Azazel.
I've always gotten it to work with v1.12 Gold, but it's pretty tedious to set up if you do it for the first few times. Got to "herd" the civillian into a spot where they try to hold position rather than run away.

Got it,Saros.
What I usually do, when it comes to agility raising,is running forward and backward in stealth mode, night time, using the last remaining enemy and UV googles plus camo.(using that 2-5 squares distance where you see the enemy and it doesn't see you)
Not sure it's much more tedious than the procedure you describe.
And yes, you're right, the all time easiest way to gain agility is to run in stealth mode around a crepitus larva, that is stationary, if you have a sci-fi game.It doesn't crawl more than 2 squares, doesn't strike back, there's "always" one in the underground of Tixa...
By the time the bug quest is triggered I usually have already hired all the mercenaries I want to keep till the end.
Let me tell you what happened once to me: the 4 rebels were the target for this procedure,Dynamo and Shank.I waiste the other crepitus in that underground, the only thing remaining is that larva.I raise the agility of those 6 to 85+.I retreat, thinking that Grizzly,Lynx,Wolf,Cougar could also benefit from this. They arive from above aand...they find a big female monster, instead of the useful larva.

I know these posts are very old now. But still..
Just for kicks, i started to play JA2 1.12 again, im playing the 8000+ mod with 32-60 enemies per sector.
Since i love to 'RPG' JA2, means i love to make my mercs improve their stats through gaming and not editing, i do that. Its cheating too, yes, but more fun. So i tested a couple ways to increase some of the stats in an...non-orthodox way (blatant cheater lol).
I managed to increase AGI of any of my m ercs by walking around camoed and stealthed in front of the BLOODCATS. Yep. If done properly, you can spot them from afar and they won't spot you. Had to kill (quietly) one or two of them (was not careful enough). No harm done, had another merc nearby with a powerful silenced weapon ( ambidextrous IMP merc with 2x MP10, silenced, ball ammo).
Another way (the one i love most): in Tixa, at night. Creep forward until you spot some of the last enemies in the sector that still are in the main buliding (through the window looking on the courtyard). Make one distant merc fire his long range rifle (shoot the wall in front of the enemy). the enemy will stay pinned near the window lookig at the courtyard but wont see your other camo'ed merc walking back and forth stealthed, camoed with UV-goggles.
And, finally: MED increase the super easy way: i went with Conrad in cambria and started to shoot my own militia. Not AT them, but BEHIND them so they are in my line of fire. Sure enuff, they got shot badly. The blues can be shot for approx 70HP so they dont die, but stay 'critical', and friendly. then use your merc (Conrad) to bandage them. Repeat, and when done, do the same thing with the other city sectors. When Conrad left Cambria, it was a very gloomy city with 80 militia badly shot all in 'critical' conditions, but bandaged. Shot some civilians too, but they have much less HP so not worth it very much.Conrad, the evil painbringer went to Grumm with his MED at 90 now. too bad, he spent almost all my small/large medkits. Wish i hoarded them earlier, insted of dumping them!!
Well, Jake in Estoni is selling some second-handed ones. Time to merge alot of medkits, jump someone in the Helo and collect the ones i left behind around Arulco!!
