The Mobile-Militia-Feature has been changed in 2018. The mobil militia will no longer patrol independently, the player has to give orders each time. And to do so, some things are required.

When you scroll down the mainpage there is "Modding HQ 1.13". There look for "Flugente's Magika Workshop". Inside this you will find explanations for many of the newer features.

The one about the Mobile Militia is this one: http://thepit.ja-galaxy-forum.com/index.php?t=msg&th=22525&start=0&

Scroll down the page, there will be further explanations and descriptions of updates as well - don't worry it's just one page (as of today). You'll also find a YouTube-Video there.

If one of your mercs is in same sector as militia, change to militia-view and click on them with left mouse-button. Then you can give travel orders.
When you are in a town, go to militia-view and click them with right mouse-button, you then can move and sort them in free town sectors like it has been.
Take a look at the link for details.

The old mobile militia feature has been removed in favor of Militia Strategic Movement.

edit: Oops, Kitty was quicker.

... should I change the militia setting first in ini editor ?.
You wrote that you solved it allready aww , but for the sake of future readers of this thread I add a little something according the ini-settings.

Yes, you have to change some settings for militia in JA2-options.ini first.

You can do this with the Ini-Editor (it will change the file "JA2_Options.ini" choosen at "Select Ini-File") or open this file directly with a text-editor (windows has an editor as standard (noterpad), personally I prefer the free Editor notepad++ ). Remember to change the file you actually want to play with, for JA2v.1.13 this is stored in Folder "Data-1.13".

----------------

To allow movement of militia on stratetic map (the map-view of Arulco where you can see the cities) at all, the Ini-setting has to be ALLOW_MILITIA_STRATEGIC_COMMAND = TRUE
This can be changed here:

Flugente wrote on Sun, 08 February [b
2015 23:57]Expanded Feature: Move militia in strategic map, part 2

Ini settings:
[Militia Strategic Movement Settings]

;------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
; If ALLOW_MILITIA_STRATEGIC_COMMAND is TRUE, we can plot paths for militia jut like for merc groups or the heli.
; To command militia, display militia in the strategic map, then leftclick on a sector with militia in it.
; This requires either control and staffing of a military HQ, a merc in the same sector/town, or a radio operator in an adjacent sector.
;
; : If ALLOW_MILITIA_STRATEGIC_COMMAND is TRUE, ALLOW_MOBILE_MILITIA and its subsequent settings are IGNORED!
;------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ALLOW_MILITIA_STRATEGIC_COMMAND = FALSE
--------------------------

Later Flugente, the coder of this feature, has added something more:

Flugente wrote on Wed, 14 March [b
2018 22:21] ... as of r8548 & GameDir r2415, if MILITIA_STRATEGIC_COMMAND_REQUIRES_MERC is FALSE (default TRUE), militia can always be commanded from strategic screen, regardless of whether you control the HQ or mercs are nearby.
So, in 1.13-versions higher then 8548/2415, you will see this in the ini:

[Militia Strategic Movement Settings]

;------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
; If ALLOW_MILITIA_STRATEGIC_COMMAND is TRUE, we can plot paths for militia just like for merc groups or the heli.
; To command militia, display militia in the strategic map, then leftclick on a sector with militia in it.
;------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ALLOW_MILITIA_STRATEGIC_COMMAND = FALSE

; if TRUE, this feature requires either control and staffing of a military HQ, a merc in the same sector/town, or a radio operator
; in an adjacent sector.
MILITIA_STRATEGIC_COMMAND_REQUIRES_MERC = TRUE

This means, that when MILITIA_STRATEGIC_COMMAND_REQUIRES_MERC = TRUE you will need a merc that is assigned to HQ or a merc is in the same sector/town, or a radio operator is in a neighbouring sector.
When MILITIA_STRATEGIC_COMMAND_REQUIRES_MERC = FALSE this is not required and you can allways move them on stratetic map (given that you have set ALLOW_MILITIA_STRATEGIC_COMMAND = TRUE above to allow this at all).
On standard maps the Military HQ is in Alma.

--------------------------------

Don't mistake the following for it:

[Tactical Interface Settings]
;------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
; Enable/disable the ability to give commands to Militia during TACTICAL mode.
;------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ALLOW_TACTICAL_MILITIA_COMMAND = TRUE

With ALLOW_TACTICAL_MILITIA_COMMAND you enable/disable the possability to give orders to your militia on map. If TRUE and your mercs are on a map with militia you can talk to them and give orders.

---------------------

Think of the Ini-File as "GameSettings" known from other games. You can change a lot, for e.g. you can also change how much money the militia will cost per day in "Financial Settings" and much more.
Take your time and read it. For games like Skyrim or Fallout I sometimes spent hours for GameSettings, so nothing wrong with giving the ini-file some thought, too. shy
