The Jagged Alliance 2 Stracciatella team is proud to present a new release. Over two years in the making, it includes several new features, plenty of bugfixes compared to previous versions and the original game, more work in externalizing data and innumerable clean-ups of the old code base. Also notable is the better launcher experience and easier tweaking of settings for power users and modders.

Read about the details, feature documentation and fixes here:

Packages for Ubuntu, Windows and OSX are available.

Thanks a lot from a long-time JA2 fan, since Tribsoft ported it to Linux 20 years ago, for keeping it alive after all this time!

Still, a question -- because why post if not to whine a little:
The .deb Debian package depends on both libfltk-images1.3 and libfltk1.3-dev. Is the -dev dependency actually necessary? shy

It might be a built-time dependency only; you can try force removing it and seeing if the launcher still workds.

It still does. (But now `apt` seems a bit grumpy for some reason ;-) )
It's really no big deal anyway: it's just that, as far as I can recall, previous .deb packages never had any '-dev' dependency before.

Has anyone else had severe FPS issues? I've tried all the fixes I can think of ( all the ones from 1.13, compatibility mode, setting affinity) and I'm still getting 15-18 FPS( based on what the FPS debug is saying) even out of combat.

Edit: I'm on Windows 10, I7 processor, and a crazy good GPU that shouldn't matter at all lol.

I actually figured it out just now, based off a hunch.... I used an older version of JA2 from GOG that I had, rather than the current one the GOG downloader installs, and it works fine. I actually realized that the current GOG version runs fine on Windows 10 but my older version didn't, which led me to try it.
